Company Background – Facebook
• Facebook is a social media and networking service which is
an American online platform owned by Meta Platforms.
• This online connectivity platform was founded in 2004 by
Mark Zuckerberg and his fellow Harvard College students.
• In the year 2020, the organization has reported a total of 2.8
monthly active users and the platform is ranked fourth in
global internet usage.

Database and Management Information System
• A database management system (DBMS) refers to a software
package that is designed in a way that it defines, retrieves,
manipulates, and manages the data in the database.
• A DBMS generally helps in manipulating the data itself, the
field names, the data format, and the record structure.
• Every organization and platform needs to store the data
securely so that it can be retrieved and used when required in
the future.
