Analysis of characteristics of exemplary business communication
According to the view of Burke & Kraut., (2016) Facebook is one of the best sources of
business communication. Facebook can help an organization to strengthen their workplace
communication. There are various kinds of characteristics that make Facebook one of the best
and unique communication tool that can be used by organizations. One of the main
characteristics of Facebook as business communication type for organization is that it can be
used by organizations to create their own blogs post their new products or services, issues faced
by them, improvement brought by them, post videos and many more. This helps them to enable
their employees or customers to activity participate within communication process. It helps in
increasing effectiveness of communication because their customers need not to weight for the
updates about any kind of product or service. It can be used for business communication as well
where all kinds of important notice, information, changes within schedules can be posted on
Facebook. Employees can also share their achievements of new news related to organization
directly on Facebook. Su & Chan., (2017) explains another characteristic of Facebook of
business communication is its instant communication. Employees and employers can directly
communicate with each other, share any kind of Facebook pose, information with each other as
well as can communicate with other personally. Another one of the most important
characteristics of Facebook for business communication is that it helps in remaining
interconnected and communicating globally without any issues. If any kind of information,
achievement or any other important message is required to be shared internationally them it can
be shared with the help of Facebook. It can be said that Facebook is one of the best types of
business communication that has various characteristics that can be used to interact and

used for communication within organizational setting. Author also explains that usage of
advance and new technology for communication has always been a challenge that are being
faced by the organizations in many different ways. According to the author usage of new
technologies have helped in becoming pervasive, embedded and remain inter- connected with
each other. Chang, 2017 have explained that Facebook is one of those communication tools that
can be used by organizations for development and enhancement of organizational business
communication in a much better manner. It is one of the best social networking sites which
easily available and accessible by each and every one and everywhere regardless of their
physical location. The original post of the author is partially comprehensive i.e. they have no
included each detail related to Facebook usage in Busyness communication. However, author has
still explained major potential effects of using Facebook within workplace premises but still
some of the components are missing in the original post such as major impact of the Facebook
usage within workplace. In this post maximum characteristics have been identified but have
included very little explanation of it. However, Phillips & et.al., (2017) helped in explaining all
the characteristics of Facebook with an example of each in a detailed manner. If both the articles
are been critically examined then it can be said that Chang, 2017 has successfully explained all
the characteristics and effect of Facebook and organizational communication tool but has missed
to include all the details with example whereas, Phillips & et.al., (2017) has explained all details
with examples.

From the above discussion there are various kinds of factors that have been learned and
understood about business communication. There are three main key points that have been
learned from this discussion that can be used or applied in future. First of all, it can be concluded
that there are various kinds of tools that can be used by organizations for business
communication (Stephenson & et.al., 2018). Facebook is one of those tools that can be used by
organizations to interact with each other, with employees as well as with customers in a much
better and enhanced manner. From the second key point it can be summarized that Facebook has

various kinds of characteristics that makes Facebook an effective tool that can be used by
business for communication. It not only helps in interacting with other or reaching out each other
but it also helps in spreading any kind of new or important information in an easy and effective
manner. From the discussion third key point that has also been identified is that Facebook has
both positive and negative impact to be used as business communication tool. If an organization
uses Facebook as a tool then they need to understand its both positive and negative aspects and
effect. Positive effect is that is any kind of important notice is required to be circulated or if it is
required to reach other employees or customers globally them with the help of Facebook
Communication can be established globally in a more effective manner (Kite & et.al., 2016).
They can even organize marketing campaign on Facebook in order to communicate with their
customers and engage their employees within that campaign. But it has one negative aspect as
well i.e. if their customers or employees are not satisfied with the organization then they can
directly communicate or post it on organization’s wall which would directly impact their overall
reputation.
