INTRODUCTIONIn an organisation, for achieving the determined objectives, management has to focus onhigh qualities of facilities and services. With the help of systematic operation management, firmcan be able to improve customer satisfaction and meet their requirements by deliveringimpressive services. Facilities operation management is one of the strategic areas of a businessthrough which quality of operations and services can easily get improved. The current reportoutlined the quality and effectiveness of facilities operation with respect to hospitality industry.The roles and responsibilities of facilities manager regarding operational aspect has also beendiscussed in this report.TASK 11.1 Responsibilities of the facilities managers for staff engaged in facilities operationHilton hotel is the global brand that has more than 570 Hilton hotels and resorts in 85countries. It has one aim i.e. to deliver excellent quality of facilities and services regardingaccommodation and others as well as to become number one brand in the world. Facilities management is a professional management discipline considered upon theefficient and effective delivery of support services for organisations that it serve. It is a kind offunction that integrates people, place and process in order to improve the quality of services andfacilities within business organisation (Park and el.at., 2014). Facility management offers scopein the sector of hotels, hospital, township, shopping malls, property management, etc. It is veryimportant for general management to understand their responsibilities regarding facilitiesmanagement and operations so that it can effectively address the objectives of business. Forachieving this objective, facilities manager of Hilton hotel has great responsibilities regardingfacilities management, operations and its scope. Responsibilities of the facilities' manager forstaff engaged in facilities operations are discussed as below-Facilities manager of Hilton hotel has great responsibility to maintain high quality offacilities and services within business. He/she should check and monitor employeesworking and performance at regular basis so that excellent quality of facilities can bedelivered to customers.

Facilities manager has to conduct employee’s engagement and welfare activities withinthe organisation through which subordinates can effectively motivate and encourage forhigher performance and productivity (Iqbal and Sharma, 2012).Training and development is another great responsibility of facilities manager by whichof quality of services, facilities and operations of business can be improved. With thehelp of training, manager can provide opportunity to personnel’s for improvingpersonality and professionalism.1.2 Responsibilities that facilities' manager has for operational aspects of the buildingIn the hotel, facility manager is person who has to focus on various operations andfacilities regarding hotel operations. Following are various responsibilities of the facilitymanager with respect to operational aspects:Auditing- Facilities manager of Hilton hotel should conduct external as well as internallegal and statutory audits at regular basis so that appropriate outcomes can be obtained.Building management and operation- This is another responsibility of facilities managertowards operation aspect under which he/she has to focus on the legal and statutoryrequirements. With the help of legislation and regulatory function, manager of hotel cansecurely carry out business functions and activities (Ghosh, 2015).Refurbishment and security- Facilities manager of Hilton hotel has responsibility torenew the certificate and licenses of all kinds of business operations, activities andprocedure within hotel operations. He has to make sure that all licences and certificateshould be renewed on timely basis.Mechanical and electrical system- He/she has to ensure that all electronic andmechanical systems are arranged and managed in an appropriate manner. All machineryand technological devices should regularly be updated and monitored by facilitiesmanager.1.3 Responsibilities that facilities' manager has towards customers using the facilityCustomer plays a crucial role in the hotel through which growth and progress of businessis possible. High customer satisfaction helps company to achieve determined objectives.Facilities manager of Hilton hotel has several responsibilities towards customers which arediscussed as below:
