Facilitators to Effective Team Performance
Facilitator of an effective team performance includes strong and reliable leadership,
diversity, effective communication, skilled conflict management and ability to adapt. Effective
leadership is a fundamental aspect of effective team performance. A leader should neither
provide much nor less authority to the team. The leader should be available and approachable.
The leader should also listen to the grievances of the team members and value their output.
Furthermore, effective leadership involves the ability to appreciate individual contributions and
quickly deal with problems as they arise among the group members.
Even though the team members may have defined roles and responsibilities, flexibility is
a significant facilitator of effective team performance. It is vital for the team members to
acknowledge the fact that tasks and roles are not rigid. The team members who are willing to
cross their positions and work collaboratively with their colleagues are likely to promote
effective team performance when compared to group members who are rigid in their area of
specialization.
Diversity is also a significant facilitator of effective group performance. The members of the
team should empress diversity in thoughts, skills, and experience (Akron, Feinblit, Hareli &
Tzafrir, 2016). Impressing diversity among the tea members generates new and inventive
strategies for completion of tasks assigned. A team is always effective when it impresses new
solutions to the available problems.

Effective communication also plays a significant role in promoting excellent team
performance (Channon, Davis, Goode, & May, 2017). Interaction among the team members and
their leaders call for effective communication. Communication should be made quick and
friendly to avoid differences within the organization.
Lastly, skilled conflict management plays a significant role in promoting excellent team
performance. Conflict should not be discouraged within the team members as it is the origin of
new and innovative ideas. However, the leader of the group should ensure the conflict level
maintains individual respect among the team members.
From an individual perspective, including the patient as a team member is fundamental. The
strategies set in the group should aim at meeting the patients’ preferences (Lamb, et, al., 2013).
