INTRODUCTIONFacility operation management is one of the major element of an each and everybusiness. It will help in effective function in operation management in a company ororganisation. This report is focused on under performing hotel in UK. Moreover, different rolesand responsibilities of a facility manager towards operation management. Furthermore, the reportwill identify the method used for evaluating quality and effectiveness of the various operation inan organisation. On the other hand, brief discussion on environmental health and safety as wellas statutory agreement towards the hotel.TASK 1AC1.1 Facility management and responsibility of facility manager Facility management is an integrated of various technologies, systems, personnel andprocesses. It is a basic management to coordinate demand and supply of services and facilities inprivate and public organizations. The term facility refers to something which is provided or builtfor a particular purpose. It is a process to maintain and develop those services which support thebusiness with making high profitability. Its major objective is to promote an efficient andcollaborative environment to achieve the mission and goal of that organization. There is a newterm comes that is CAFM(Gurung and Derrett 2018). It stands for computer aided facilitymanagement and it is an information technology based FMS. It includes business,communication, project management and technology. Project management is a software that maybe used to track the projects which are developed at departmental level. In facility management,there is also a facility manager who manage all the operations regarding facility and it takescharges with care of day to day maintenance. Its major responsibilities are as under. Every facility manager must ensuring that the facility is operating should be on dailybasis. The manager will need to organize daily inspections and interact with every employee sothe decision he takes, are good for the organization. There are some other responsibilities' comesthat are formulating plans for the future, new plans for repairs and replacements, managing anddeveloping the dealer contracts.
AC 1.2 Responsibility of facility manager for operational aspects of the building Daily operations of the building are conducted by the facility manager like crew oftechnicians, grounds keepers and maintenance workers including custodians. These are the majorresponsibilities that should have done by the facility manager:-Accessibility – facilities managers are all responsible for solid waste management at theirown organization(Miyake and Kondou 2017). They make new strategies and implementthem to reduce the solid waste throughout the boundary.Maintenance and Repair – Daily and routine project work by grounds staff ensures thatthe campus is safe, aesthetically and it facilitates the organizational mission andcommunity. There is an important activity for engineering staff to prevent maintenance. Itensures that production is working in proper order, and increases the service life of newlyconstructed facility. Mechanical and Electrical Systems – facility managers are manager who describes asparticipants in making new plan and strategy regarding mechanical and electricalsystem(Kristensen and Kristensen 2017). They are trained to search and rescue, assist inevacuation of the premises.Refurbishment and Security - In the staff member there are also engineers, they shouldhelp in maintenance services about security to ensure comfort and perform better servicesin both indoors and out. AC1.3 Responsibilities of the facility manager towards customersFacility manager also liable for their responsibilities against for customers. The majorresponsibilities include – customer satisfaction, customer retention and good customer serviceand customer empathy. These responsibilities are implied by facility managers to ensure thatbetter customer experience and feel it better. For developing customers satisfaction first they allmonitor and operate all the products and services across the supply chain. Every customer isimportant for the organisation because they earn more profit from their customers so make surethat customer is satisfied for their products. For example that a customer buy a product shouldfresh and good for customer's health. Further, the second responsibility comes for the productionand specification according to customer tastes and preferences (Kwon and Yoon 2017).. Manyfacility manager evaluate the demand of their products. They are for safe for the situation whereany shortage of products and services. A perfect manager must follow these things while making
