INTRODUCTION Each firm aim to gain competitive advantage and conduct operations in such manner so that it can sustain in the market for longer duration. Facilities operation management helps the firms in identifying issues and making effective strategies through which entity can meet with its objectives (Heizer, 2016). McDonalds is the most popular firm that conducts its operations across the world.It serves more than 46 million consumers globally.Due to operational efficiency of the firm entity is able to manage its operations well and running business smoothly. Present study will discuss responsibility of facilities manager towards staff, customers and operationsof the business. Furthermore, it will explain health, safety and environmental measures that need to be implemented in the organization. In addition, report will develop effective system for processing information and maintaining communication in the workplace. TASK 1 1.1 Responsibility of facilities manager for staff engagement Facilitiesmanagerisresponsibletoprovidequalityservicestotheconsumers. McDonalds is the firm where many employees work, it is responsibility of the manager that to enhance engagement among all staff members so that they can perform their duties well and can communicate with each other freely (Zhang and et.al, 2016). The responsibility of the facilities manager is to manage their staff members well and address their issues. Individual is responsible to review their performance and make them aware with the quality standard. Manager has to monitor their performance and have to give training to them so that they can perform their work effectively.McDonalds always focuses on providing quality services to consumers. Thus, facilities manager in the cited firm have to ensure that all the employees perform their work effectively (Woo.and et.al., 2015). Manager check temperature of kitchen and cleanses as well. Manager has duty to make people aware with their role and responsibility in the business so that they can perform in the organization well. In order to enhance staff engagement McDonalds facilities manager organize wellfare activities. This activity helps the company in generating new ideas in the business unit and motivating people so that they become loyal towards the brand and perform their work effectively (Storch, 2017). Controlling over the staff is another duty of the facilities manager in McDonalds, they control over the employee performance so that mistakes can be minimized ad 1
overall efficiency of individual can be raised. They ensure that skilled labour stay in the organization for longer duration. 1.2 Responsibilities of facilities manager for operational aspects of the building Facilities manager ofMcDonalds monitor the operational activities of the business unit. They control over operations so that issues can be identified and these issues can be resolved on time. Manager takes responsibilities of entire operation and if any issue arise then individual has to give justification for the same (Kerzner and Kerzner, 2017). Facilities manager of the cited firm has to check quality of each individual in the business unit. If people are giving below quality work then manager give them training so that overall operational efficiency of the business unit can be increased. Facilities manager of cited firm is responsible to provide quality services to the consumers because if entity is unable to offer quality services to its valuable consumers then it will not be able to retainconsumers in the business unit for longer duration. Manager of the company has duty to evaluate the programs time to time so that no accidents take place in the company (Mohammadi, Soleymani and Mozafari, 2014). In order to ensure efficiency of each operation facilities manager of McDonalds do quality examination and cross check each material. This is the duty of manager that to improve operational efficiency of the business so that issues can be minimized and overall operational efficiency can be improved. By this way entity can become able to provide quality services to consumers and can gain competitive advantage as well. 1.3 Responsibilities of facilities manager towards customers It is the duty of facilities manager of McDonalds that to manage operation of the company from 360 degree angles (Campbell, 2017). Manager has to ensure that all its internal and external consumers feel satisfied with the products and services of the business unit. Service management is the main duty of facilities manager of cited firm. Individual has to ensure that employees of the company provide quality services to the consumers as per their requirements. Manager makes sure that when customer come to the company then people treat them well and behave with them well. It helps in gaining their loyalty and making them positive towards the brand. If they are not satisfied with the services of company then they will not come to the place again and will give negative review to others as well (Koch and et.al., 2017).
