INTRODUCTION
Couple satisfaction is an index which is utilized for the measurement of a person's
satisfaction in the relationship. The satisfaction of the couple changes due to different factors. It
is considered that the subjective evaluation of the person's relationship is what helps in the
measurement of the couple's satisfaction. Satisfaction cannot be however measured in terms of
property as it is an experience or opinion which affects the relationship. In this project with the
help of the factors which affect the couple satisfaction is statistically analysed. Methods used for
this calculation is the multiple regression method.
Some factors which do affect the satisfaction of the couples are the multidimensional
concept that affects the couple satisfaction are like the age at which they get married. Longer the
marriage lasts the satisfaction of the couples changes. Ethnicity and the personal characteristics
of the couple also affects their own satisfaction. The mental health o the people are also very
determinant factor that affects the couple satisfaction. In some scenarios the aim and
expectations from the life also creates mismatch in the satisfaction levels of the couples. Another
very important factor is the fear of intimacy between some couples can also affect their
satisfaction level. For the calculation of this satisfaction level the thematic analysis is going to be
used. in addition to this, the current study will also outline the quantitative data analysis that is
use of multiple regression in order to evaluate the hypothesis and prove them correct.
Literature review
According to _Pavalache-Ilie (2018) couple satisfaction is one of the crucial topic that
need to be focused to get deeper insights about the success of particular relationship. It is
concerned with giving larger focus on getting information regarding subjective evaluation of
one's experience and opinion related to other people. On the others side, Handley and et.al.,
(2019) articulated that satisfaction in couple is particularly emotional feeling that gives both
the people happiness. It is build by factors like trust, openness, commitments, etc. It is
important to give larger focus on providing happiness to the partner.
In the opinion of Jitaru (2020) Couple satisfaction is multinational concept which is
affected by various different factors . It comprises age at marriage, duration of it, ethnicity,
personal characteristics, mental maturity, way of thinking, perception of relationship,
emotional expectations, etc . On the basis of his it can be articulated that from the numerous

factors maturity of mind and duration of t relationship are crucial which highly influences
satisfaction of couple. Duration of relationship comprises understanding and perception o
regarding particular people with his/ her partner. On the other side, Ruggieri and et.al., (2021)
depicted that the major two components which influences satisfaction includes personal
characteristics and way of thinking. The major aspect which largely contribute in making
relationship successful is personal features which includes attitudes, etc. People majorly get
affected from attitude of their partner . It becomes essential to concentrate on way of thinking
of other partner as it majorly contribute in making relationship successful. In against to this,
Floricica, Luminita and Sabina, (2021) articulated that trust and communication are those
elements which decides the level of satisfaction of relationship. Trust is based of any
relationship and play crucial role in deciding the duration of continuity . Couple satisfaction
is highly influenced from the extent of trust prevailing among them . Communication is another
crucial component that need to pay attention on developing customer satisfaction. In addition to
this, communication pattern adopted by partners shows depth of their love.
In the opinion of _Sanri and et.al., (2021) couple satisfaction for assessing happiness
and stability which includes demographic specifications, personality attributes, attachments
style, relationship, communications and intimacy. Couple intimacy is major element that play
crucial role in making marriage successful. Level of intimacy having in relationship is
shows that how satisfied the couple. Attachment as well contribute in making relationship
on going for longer duration. In absence of attachment there are larger possibilities of occurring
dissatisfaction. It is important to have both attachment and proper level of intimacy so that
larger satisfaction can be attained by partner. In addition to this, there is important to have to
have both fro deriving higher level of satisfaction. On the other side, _Floyd and et.al., (2020)
stated that personality trait and agreeableness are two major factor which helps couple to get
attention in order to make it worth full. Sense of happiness, establishing rules of behavior,
formation of relationship pattern, etc. In against to this, Finzi-Dottan and Schiff, (2021)
emotional intelligence, financial situations, sexual functions, physiological factors, behavioral
pattern, social support, etc. On the basis of this, it can be identified that there is required.
According to Wu and et.al., (2021) there are various methods that can be taken into

to developed to relationship stronger comprises trustworthiness. Larger satisfaction is
achieved when there is much efforts are made to make partner laugh. It shows how much they
both are concerned about other participant's happiness. It is reflection of care and affection
which contributes in making relationship stronger. Respect is another key that need to be
developed and retained in order to make relationship successful. In contrast to this,_Sanri and
et.al., (2021) said that appreciating effort is one of the crucial measure that need to be taken
into consideration for increasing satisfaction and sustainability. It can be shown by planning for
outing, giving gifts,showing affection, etc. on the basis of this, it can be articulated that couple
stratification depends on the mentioned factors which can be improved by working on these
elements in positive manner.

Research Type
There are three types of research qualitative, quantitative and mixed. Qualitative research
is concerned with giving emphasis on non numerical data to understand concepts, opinions and
experiences. Quantitative research type is associated with collecting & analyzing numerical
data. Mixed type of research is combination of both qualitative & quantitative which helps in
covering concepts, opinions and numerical data set. The current research has applied mixed
type of research in which focus on theoretical concepts and collecting data in terms of figures
has been exerted to achieve objectives.
Research approach
This can be distinguished between two like inductive & deductive approach. Inductive
research is used in qualitative type of study in which observation is conducted to set pattern to
have tentative hypothesis can be applied to have theory. On the other side deductive approach
is used in quantitative study that gives emphasis on having theory, hypothesis , conducting
observation and confirmation. In mixed research these both are utilized to get proper outcome
regarding couple satisfaction. These have helped in getting overall knowledge regarding
person's satisfaction in relationship.

Interpretiivism and positivism are two different kinds of philosophies which are utilized
fro conducting research. Interpretivism philosophy is utilized in qualitative research which
basically manipulate data to interpret and in positivism are applied in quantitative research so
that riles of science and facts can be gathered. Current study regarding couple satisfaction has
applied both philosophy in turn deeper in sights about the same to meet objectives can be done.
Research design
Exploratory and descriptive are two ways to design the research which provides
assistance in carrying particular study. In exploratory research there us no past adta or any
few studies for reference and conducted to get information on problem. In descriptive research
there is aim to describe a situation accurately and systematically which is done by conducting
survey to gather data about the particular topic. In this present research study descriptive design
has been utilized to get accurate & fair knowledge regarding the prevailing topic.

There are two types of methods like primary & secondary for gathering data to attain
the objective. Primary method is utilized to achieve data which has not been used yet and
gathered particularly for this purpose. Secondary method is concerned with using data which
has been already published and can be used by referring books, journals, etc. These both
methods are utilized for achieving the objectives of gaining information regarding couple
satisfaction.
Sampling
There are two approaches which can be taken into consideration like probabilistic and
non probabilistic. Probabilistic technique comprises method of sample random,cluster strata and
systematic, etc. On the other side, convenience, purposive and snow ball, etc. For the present
study regarding satisfaction of couple it can be articulated that random technique has been
utilized and number of sample is 4 which has been selected from 64 people in qualitative
method 68 people are selected for gathering data in numerical data.
Data analysis
There are two techniques like thematic perception test and SPSS. In addition to this,
thematic perception is associated with developing themes and referring response gathered
through survey and having graphical presentation. SPSS is descriptive statistics in which one
and independent sample t test, one way ANOVA, regression, correlation and graph are
formulated. Present study has implemented both data analysis techniques so that deeper in sights
about satisfaction of customer can be derived (Candel and Turliuc, 2021).
Ethical consideration
This is basically associated with giving emphasis on having consent form, inclusion of
references, data privacy, etc. in the currents study participants has been recruited through
Facebook so that online form has been filled to derive data. Focus has been given on getting the
information via filling consent form, ensuring that proper data privacy has been maintained.
Reliability and validity
In order to ensure data reliability and validity this has been assured that latest sources
are used, articles has been assessed by using keywords. In addition to this, no alternation has
been made so that proper reliability can be maintained. For purpose of validity copy right
sources has been used.

The data screening is being defined as checking the data in order to analyse that whether
there is any error within the financial statement or not. For the effective analysis of the data it is
clear that the collected data is being screened in proper and effective manner so that conclusion
can be drawn from the gathered data. For effective analysis it is very important for the researcher

With the analysis of the descriptive statistics it is clear that there is total of 68
respondents and all the mean people who agree with humor are 21.5 and median people agreeing
with humor are 21. On the other side the maximum rating of humor is 30 and minimum is 12. In
against of this, when asked for fear of intimacy it was evaluated that on an average 63 people
assents that fear affect couple satisfaction more in comparison to humor. This is particularly
because of the reason that when it comes to couple satisfaction and if there is fear of intimacy
then satisfaction will be low. Moreover, when the people were asked relating to couple
satisfaction it was analyzed that on an average 56.7 people stated that couple satisfaction is very
important for the person to stay happy within their life.
Multiple regression
This is a statistical tool which is being used in order to analyse the relationship of a single
dependent variable along with different independent variable. The major aim of multiple
regression is that it is used in order to analyse the various independent factor which might affect
the working of the dependent factor. This is pertaining to the fact that the dependent factor is the
one which undertakes changes within itself just by a change in the independent factor. Hence, it
is essential for the analyst that they must evaluate the extent up to which independent factor
cause a change within the independent factor (Mikle and Gilbert 2019). This is essential because
of the reason that the changes in independent factor may bring positive or negative change in the
dependent factor. Hence, it is essential for the analyst to compare the change and in which
manner the change is taking place whether positive or negative and in what proportion.
In the present case that is solving multiple regression, the most essential aspect is the
setting up of hypothesis. The hypothesis is being defined as the supposition or assumption which
need to tested and proved correct. This is very important for the reason that when a hypothesis

H1 - There will be a significant positive correlation between increased humour scores and
relationship satisfaction scores.
H2 – There will be a significant correlation between fear of intimacy and couple’s satisfaction,
such that increased levels of fear of intimacy will negatively correlate with couple’s satisfaction.
These are the two hypothesis which needs to be proved with help of application of
multiple regression. In this present case, couple satisfaction is the dependent factor and humour
and fear of intimacy are the independent factor. Thus, in the current scenario it needs to be
proved that whether the satisfaction of the couple is being dependent over the humour and fear of
intimacy. Hence, with help of multiple regression it will be analysed that whether humour and
fear of intimacy affects the couple’s satisfaction or not.

With the analysis of the, multiple regression it was evaluated that overall there is a
significant dependence of couple satisfaction over the humour and fear of intimacy. This is
particularly because of the reason that the significance value calculated with help of regression
was 0.011 which is less that the significant value of 0.05. hence, this simply proves that overall
both the factors are affecting the level of couple satisfaction. Thus, it can be implied that the
alternate hypothesis stating that there is link between couple satisfaction and both the other
factors is accepted. On the other side, the null hypothesis outlining that there is not any
significant relation between the couple satisfaction and the fear of intimacy and humour. The
alternate hypothesis is being accepted because it is a standard criterion that is p value must be
less than 0.05. hence, if this value is being attained then it can be simply stated that there is a
relation between both these variables. Thus, in the present case of couple satisfaction, the
significance value is less and this proves that couple satisfaction is dependent over humour and
fear of intimacy.
Further with the analysis of the model summary it is clear the R is 0.35 or 35 %. This
simply reflects the fact that there is 35 % correlation between all these variables which implies
that there is moderate relation among the two variables. In addition to this, R square it the
variable which outline the fact that how much percentage change will be undertaken in
dependent variable due to changes in independent variable. Hence, the model summary table
outlines the fact that R square is 0.12 or 12.9 %. This simply means that if there will be any
change in fear of intimacy or humour then it will cause a 12.9 % change within the couple
satisfaction. Hence, it can be stated that the change in independent factor will not cause any
major changes within the couple satisfaction. This is particularly because of the reason that R

square is only 12.9 %. Thus it will result in only change of 12.9 % in couple satisfaction. For
instance, there is change of 50 % in humour hence, as a result of R square the change in couple
satisfaction will be only 6.54 % change in the couple satisfaction.
Further on in- depth analysis it was evaluated that out of the two variables that is fear of
intimacy and humour, first one is the fact which affects the couple satisfaction to a great extent.
This is particularly because of the reason that significance value of fear of intimacy is 0.006
which is less than the standard that is 0.05. on the other hand, another independent variable that
is humour is the one which has the significance value of 0.628. this factor outlines the fact that
couple satisfaction is not dependent over the humour. This is pertaining to the fact that when
here the significance value is 0.628 which is greater than the standard that is 0.05. thus, this
simply means that humour does not much impact over the couple satisfaction.
Qualitative analysis
The present study chose qualitative research method in which interview has been used
that helps to determine the views of selected respondents. Also, it has been examined that the
entire interview is based upon only two question which assist to determine the level of couple
satisfaction. Under this, researcher is able to examine the relationship and their perspective
towards the defined aim. Further, by designing themes on the basis of research objectives, valid
results can be drawn in order to generate the best outcomes.
Thematic Analysis
The thematic perception test technique is being applied to the qualitative data that is
being collected from the four different participants. The technique is permitting the company to
gather the views and opinions from the variety of participants and draw inferences regarding that
how do they achieve satisfaction in their relationships and also collect the data associated with
the intimacy and the laughter that is provided by both the partners. The interviewing tool is being
applied by the researcher to conclude the topic of satisfaction in the relationship and what is the
role that is played by the partner in the same. It is also elaborating the factors in the relationship
that are affecting the satisfaction level which are intimacy, laughter, understanding, needs and
desires etc. These are the requirements that differently affect the different lot of couples and
accordingly shall be determining the satisfaction they are achieving within the journey of life.
The level of satisfaction that is being achieved in the relationship is the combined effort
of both the partners and they can together feel the impact of the same. But certainly there are
