Abstract
The primary concern of this very specific study is to evaluate the reasons of declining the
number of school students especially girls for further study in South-Asian country. The study
has highlighted the fact that in today’s competitive world women empowerment and creating
learning opportunities has become immensely significant. Therefore, the researchers have
identified issues in order to evaluate on how girls are getting immensely affected in getting
higher education. Most of the parents believe that women should be involved within household
activities. In order to gather appropriate information the study has selected 50 families from
South Asian countries. Survey has been conducted by involving 50 respondents in order to get an
immediate response regarding the identified research issue. In the very last chapter the overall
findings of the identified research issue has been provided along with providing a suitable
recommendation. As a major reason of the declining the number of school students especially
girls for further study in South-Asian country the study has found out that cultural barriers as
well as economic barriers are one of the most important reasons due to which parents are unable
to provide higher education to their girl children. The study has also highlighted that girls’
education is highly important for rendering social as well as community development.

1. Introduction:
As per statistical data from 2005 to 2011, 78% to 88% girls from South Asian country are
“primary education learners” which ultimately reduces to 14% to 22% when they seek for higher
education. Socio-cultural beliefs of the mainstream community of South Asian country prevent
the parents in slowing their girl child for higher education. As a result, the entire community is
getting highly affected in developing their socio-cultural values as well as education level from
the society. This particular study has provided detailed overview about the importance of girls’
higher education in South Asian country. In quest of highlighting the significance of girls’
education, the study has given in-depth critical evaluation about the reasons of declining the
number of school students especially girls for further study in South-Asian country.
