Factors Determining Drug Use Among Adolescents: England Study

This report explores the factors that determine and contribute to drug abuse among adolescents in England, employing a mixed-methods research approach. It aims to identify positive factors that can prevent drug and alcohol usage, the positive influences of group work, and effective actions for rehabilitation centers. The research utilizes primary data collected through open-ended questionnaires focusing on lifestyle and situational aspects, alongside secondary data from news articles, journals, governmental portals, and literature. By examining both positive and negative influences such as peer pressure, family background, and self-esteem, the study seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of the factors affecting adolescents and inform future interventions to mitigate drug abuse. The ultimate goal is to identify actionable strategies for preventing drug abuse and supporting adolescents in making healthier choices.

AIM
The aim of the study is to explore the factors that determine use and contribute to drug
abuse among adolescents of England

 What are the positive factors that can be used to avoid and prevent the drug and

 What are the positive influences that a person can get after having a group work
to avoid the drug abuse in England?
 What activities and actions the doctors and rehabilitations centers should use to
take a person from this situation?
RATIONALE
The adolescent age is being seen as the most crucial age in the life as it is affected by
several stimuluses present in the external environment of the person’s life. People who
gets positivity from their environment are fortunate and have good chances of having a
great future, in other case, the people who gets bad links and habits in life are more
likely to drain their life towards catastrophe and failures. In this, the research proposal
will aim to determine the factors that lead a person towards the drug addiction and away
from it. In addition to this, the proposal will also aim to determine all those factors that
can help in avoiding the drug abuse and its use in a person’s life.
The research will help in facilitating a better understanding of the factors which
influences him/her and transit towards the positive and negative peer pressure
regarding the drug abuse. The factors are mostly present in the different life situations
like curiosity among the youngsters towards the drugs, peer group pressure to use the
drugs, mystical beliefs among the communities and youngsters while some positive
factors that hinders this issue are family background, motivation from the colleagues
and friends, self-esteem etc. So, this study will be going to elaborate all those factors
and will be very helpful in future to determine the influence of these factors and avoid
crucial conditions in life.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
For this research proposal, the method to achieve the aim and objectives is going to be
a mixed approach. Both the modes of research will be used i.e., data will be collected in
primary as well as secondary medium. For primary research a questionnaire will be
formed which consists of some important aspects regarding the life style, situations to
determine the factors. Here, all the questions will be open ended and will not contain
any kind of personal data of the person selected from the sample size. In addition to
this, the secondary research will be performed from the news articles, journals, research
papers, governmental portals, literatures etc. This secondary research will be conducted
through both inclusive and exclusive data to get the most relevant understanding of the
present scenario and finally conclude with most accurate results and findings.
