weight gain or loss. In this context, it is important for children to eat healthy diet with vegetables,
fruits, etc. Being overweight or obese contributes with numerous health conditions that limit the
quality and length of life for example Hypertension (Mokry, Ross and Richards, 2016).
Rationale of the research
Childhood obesity and excess weight are significant health issues for individual children,
families and public as well. It can be considered serious implications for physical and mental
health of a child which must be followed on into adulthood. There are several numbers of
children continue to have an unhealthy and potentially dangerous weight which is concern with
national public health. Healthcare professional play an important role that positively helps
families to take actions (Brauer, Gorber and Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care,
2015). Working along with other professionals and public health teams also influence population
at level action. Action across the child life course is essential which impact on childhood obesity
and enable to positive behaviour change in relation to eating and activity.

1.2 Factors that contribute in the process of research project selection
In the research study, it can be stated that there are several factors contributes in the
process of research selection and specification. They are as follows: Researcher interest: Researcher has wide interest in health and social care. Furthermore,
due to children obesity there is wide interest to identify reasons and factors exists in it.
This is because, obesity harms children due to several elements such as emotional and
behavioural, school absence, low self-esteem, etc. (Dumay and Cai, 2015). Due to high
cholesterol, breathing difficulties, etc. occur because of obesity. Researcher knowledge: Researcher also possess obesity and overweight that are linked to
wide range of diseases such as diabetes, asthma, hypertension, cancer, heart disease, etc.
Obesity is also associated with poor psychological and emotional health, poor sleep and
many children experience that are linked to their weight. Obese children are more likely
to become obese adults which create higher risk of morbidity, disability and premature
mortality (Dang and Pheng, 2015).
 Research project scope: Obesity is also associated with poor psychological and

reduced energy diets encourages choosing healthy meal to take initiatives. Healthy eating also
impact positive on long term growth. On the other hand, Noonan, Boddy and Fairclough, (2016)
stated that healthy weight is extremely important part of overall health. Maintaining healthy

weight contributes to numerous health conditions that limit quality and length of life. In order to
lowering risk of heart diseases, it is essential to implement obesity of children in successful way.
Importance of maintaining a healthy life to combat obesity in children of UK

food and be physically active which is more important for their healthy future. It can be
challenge and requires patience, positivity according to the time. Children inherit body type and
shape from their parents so that it cannot be change but influence eating habits and actively
pattens that create impact on body weight.

As per the views of Muthuri, Onywera and Maher, (2016), there is wide relationship
between healthy life and combat obesity in children of UK. In this regard, overweight children
faces many difficulties. They feel different from other children which create major impact on
their confidence. They can also be subjected to bullying from other children which create
negative effect. This make parent feel worried about their children to take part in daily life. On
the other hand, Garde, Umedaly and Dumont, (2015) said that it is important to seek the advice
of health professional. Young children not be on diets that severely limit food intake. Permanent
changes in family's lifestyle and eating patterns must be assess so that each person can involved
these changes to deal with innovative perspective.
Recommend ways through healthy life can be maintained to combat obesity in Children of UK
According to the point of Noonan, Boddy and Fairclough, (2016), Health and social care
must consider healthy diet and different types of food that can be easily eat by children. All
children must eat regularly with healthy snacks so that it helps to encourage wide variety of
nutritions foods. Furthermore, fresh vegetables and fruits instead of processed snack foods must
be implemented which helps to maintained to combat obesity in children of UK. However,
Cason-Wilkerson, Goldberg and Haemer, (2015) generated their views that healthy food must be
offers that refused as well. It includes food that are according to child choice in the family menu

sometimes. Eating healthy food helps to focus on maintain more effective advantages in food
preparation. Encourage slow eating to offer crunchy foods that need more chewing.

Research methodology consist important part in research areas specification. In this
consideration, following elements of research methods consider developing more significant
results in whole program: Research philosophy: There are two types of research philosophies consider such as
interpretivism and positivism. With this regard, present study based on interpretivism
research philosophy that assists to accomplish desired level of outcomes with analysis
subjective interpretation (Smith, 2015). Research design: Research design also consist important role in which several
perspectives can be used by researcher. In this regard, exploratory, descriptive,
experimental, etc. kinds of research designs included that helps to identify significant
advantages. With the help of descriptive research design, researcher can easily find in-
depth information and outcomes that successfully develop to attain more desired level of
results (Panneerselvam, 2014). Research approach: Inductive and deductive two types of approaches generally
considered from which researcher select deductive which helps to analysis results from
general to specific. Therefore, it contains more creative consideration at workplace
(Quinlan, Babin and Griffin, 2019). Research strategy: Qualitative and quantitative two types of research strategy considered
in the present research that used to carry effective analysis of the data and information. In
this way, present study based on qualitative information that assists to carry data analysis
on the basis of opinion, views, etc. of respondents (Quinlan, Babin and Griffin, 2019). Data collection: In the present research, primary and secondary both kinds of data used
that assists to focus on relevant information collection that is required to attain desired
level of results. Data analysis: In the present study, thematic analysis has been considered successfully
that helps to focus on the relevant information gathering in the whole research.
 Sampling: With this regard, it can be stated that there are two ways such as probabilistic
and non-probabilistic to collect appropriate data and information in whole research. With

simple random sampling method has been used. There are 30 health care practitioners
selected as respondents (Humphries, 2017).

methods are not useful because that are not provides in-depth analysis. Research approach: Deductive research approach is best which used to provide
framework from general to specific so that it increases positive advantages at workplace. Research strategy: With the help of qualitative strategy, it can be stated that research
findings from respondents opinion, views, etc. can be successfully measure at workplace. Data collection: In the present research, primary and secondary both kinds of data
collected that assists to accomplish desired level results. Both are useful framework that
helps to find innovative characteristics. Data analysis: With the help of thematic data analysis, researcher can easily concentrate
in appropriate functioning at workplace. Therefore, different themes has been undertaken

3.1 Evaluation techniques
There are different types of evaluation techniques exists that must be used by researcher to
find appropriate results. They are as follows:
Formative evaluation: With the help of formative evaluation technique measurement
consider that how well the process is processing with overall changes that are necessary for the
research. In this regard, reflection also undertaken from whole research program that is useful to

carry effective functioning at workplace. On the basis of instructions and progress, researcher
can run their outcomes.
Summative evaluation: Apart from formative, summative evaluation technique consider
at the end of research program. This kind of evaluation considers effectiveness of the program as
whole to make appropriate suggestions to improve it (Michael E Carpenter, 2018). On the basis
of respondents, survey can be completed and questionnaire after whole program also
undertaking. Further information assists to the researcher to meet with desired results and
outcomes.
3.2 Interpretation and analysis of data and results
Theme: 1 HSC provided support to children and families to maintain healthy weight
Interpretation: Thus from the above pie diagram, it has been analysed that out of 30
respondents, 22 have given positive answers and said that health and social care services of UK
provided support to children's and families in order to maintain healthy weight, while 4
respondents were against them. The remaining ones were totally unknown about the fact.

Interpretation: With the help of diagram that has been mentioned above, it has been analysed
that Health and social care services can provide better services to children's and families. 20
members agreed when asked them in the survey. The other 6 disagreed and went against those
respondents who said yes. Thus, the 4 that were remaining did not respond anything in survey.
Theme: 3 Good experience considered for children and families need above and beyond the
services
Interpretation: When asked this question in the survey, 25 members were supporting the idea of
children and families considers good experience needs more than the services. But, here also 3
respondents refused to this idea. While 2 that were remaining totally disagreed.

3.3 Analysis results on the basis of evaluation techniques, recommendations and justify three
areas of further consideration
Evaluation is the determination of subjects merit, worth and significance in a systematic way by
using the criteria that has been governed by standards that has been set. It is used often in order
to characterize, appraise subjects of interest in a wide range of human enterprises.
Thus, by analysing results on basis of evaluation techniques, it has been found that-
 Health and social care services must provide support to children and families in order to
maintain healthy weight by encouraging them with to have healthy habits of eating. As
this small changes can lead a recipe towards success.
 Current public health services also can be improved successfully. Thus, it will later help
in focusing on development of peer mentoring. It also provides therapeutic benefits to the
patients.
 Services of health and social care service should be link with other services like engaging
children in activities that creates entertainment to them, involving people in preparation
of simple foods or rewarding the child with the food that makes them happy and will help
in maintaining weight of children and families.
Thus, all the above recommendations will help the health and social care services in terms of
improvement in future and will also help them in supporting and maintaining the healthy weight
of children and families too.
