FAMILY
1
Family can be defined, as the group that consists of parents and children in a space
where they live together like a team. Family is considered as the group, including, two or
more people living together with respect and love in a home. The society has divided family
into various categories of joint family, big nuclear and small nuclear family depending on a
number of individuals in the family. The traditional concept of family depicts the formation
or stimulation of relationship through the bond of marriage, blood and adoption amongst
family members. According to societal belief, a baby should have a positive experience with
his parents and siblings for growing to be a responsible person in the community. Healthy
relationships in the family are known for promoting culture, positive habits and traditional
values in children. The bond and love from family are needed by everyone to accomplish the
peace of mind.
Family is usually defined on a single perspective of the people an individual is
attached by blood, directly or indirectly. However, the word holds a broader perspective in
reality. Family is not just the association between parents and children; it is the association of
the 'sense of family'. The similar meaning of the word 'unity' and 'mutual relationship' is
family. The purpose and concept of 'family' are not limited to the involvement of a group of
people. Family can also be an individual who reflects the sense of respect and belongingness
for the specific individual. Family can be the responsible teacher who is working hard for
developing the skills and learning’s of the students. Family can be the child, who is
dependent on the teacher for learning new capabilities and knowledge for sustaining life and
career. Family can be a friend who becomes a companion in both joyful and tough times.
Family can be an adopted pet, through the reflection of selfless love and warmth.
The restrictive meaning of family should not be concentrated up to several people
associated with blood, as it is more than science. Another commonly used definition of
family is a social unit including two or more individual connected with blood, adoption or
marriage with a collective share commitment regarding a mutual relationship. This definition
