INT. FAST FOOD JOINT’S KITCHEN –DAY
DELLA, fair complexioned, slander, young nubile woman in her late
20’s, is removing her “kitchen apron.” The watch hanging on a
wall in the kitchen indicates it is a 5’o clock.

INT.LOCKER ROOM OF THE FAST FOOD JOINT- DAY
Della rummages for a paper inside her ordinary looking purse,
this is a “Pink slip.” This reads
“Date: 15 December, 2006.” JULIEN, a tom boy, in her early 30’s
walks in, notices the pink slip in the hands of the DELLA.
JULIEN
Yes, Della, they are planning to fire
some of us, otherwise, the combination
of Pink envelop with a Christmas
Greeting, who knows this might be my
last Christmas in New York, I am packing
my goods. (Singing)
O Sweet Home Alabama, Welcome your
Goddess, I am coming.
DELLA
Ohh Julien, stop exaggerating, you
are going because you are homesick,
By the way, pink is my favorite and
it is equally connected with
Christmas my favorite X-Mas dress

is Pink and I want to flaunt it
with an expensive Lavie purse on
the new year eve.
JULIEN
Oh…my Gosh!!! I love that pink
beauty, I will steal it someday, In
fact, people in Alabama are mad

EXT/ LAVIE SHOWROOM/NIGHT
Della is walking on the pavement; she stands in front of the
display window of the “LAVIE SHOWROOM.” She stares at a Pinkish
Golden Lavie bag. The Price Tag of this bag reads “RECESSION
PRICE, $ 4000. The sight of the purse brings a faint smile on the
face of Della,
DELLA ( V/O)
Recession is for everyone,
expensive brands like Lavie are
now eyeing at me…the battle of
“meeting ends, always wins over
the battle of meeting with the
dreams.
EXT/ LAVIE SHOWROOM-NIGHT
JIM, a tall man with a strong built, a man in his early 30’s,
carrying a folded Canvas in his hand is staring at Della from a
distance, Della notices him and waves.

Cut to
EXT/PARK LANE-NIGHT
Della and Jim are walking through park lane, crossing a series of
row houses. Signs of early snowfall are visible and half made
plastic Christmas trees in the lawns of the row houses are
stealing the glitter from the moon-lit sky.
JIM
Plastic Christmas trees in the
lawns and digital prints in the Art
Galleries. We are living in a
rapidly changing world Della.
Paintbrush is obsolete and I don’t
have that digital paintbrush, it is
synthetic …Della, I need a lot of
practice, to digitize my
imagination, I am obsolete
He throws his paintbrush in a dustbin nearby.
DELLA
Jim, you are not copying
masterpieces, you are recreating
them, you are classic school
painter, just add some abstract
nature in your painting, trust me,
you are moonlight, you are not a
neon sign.

INT/ JIM AND DELLA’S HOUSE, DELLA’S DRESSING TABLE -NIGHT
Studio Apartment, Jim is struggling with a Digital pen, Della is
rearranging her closet, she brings out her Pink Xmas Dress, opens
it, flaunts it on her body, looks herself in the mirror of the
dressing table where her tattered purse is placed. A feeling of
disappointment on her face because the purse doesn’t look nice
with her dress. She is unaware that Jim is watching her, Jim
notices the displeasure on her face. He smiles,
Cut to
INT/ JIM AND DELLA’S HOUSE, JIM’S WORKSTATION –NIGHT
We see Jim working on the computer, trying to add some effects on
a photograph, in which Della is adorned in the same pink gown. He
tries to add a Pink Lavie bag with the help of a mouse but fails;
he surfs on the internet and checks the details of a digital pen.
He is unaware that Della is observing her from behind. She comes
closer to Jim and gives him a gentle shoulder massage.
JIM
(His eyes are closed)
I think a change of profession is a
good idea for me, Robby is
interested in purchasing my work
station…Della, I am an artist, I am
not a painter and this machine only
supports painting.
DELLA

But you told me that the addition
of a digital brush and touchpad can
add new dimensions to your art…
JIM
Art…yes, the technology of digital
brush and touchpad is a state of
the art technology, we cannot
afford it right now, maybe two
years down the line, when the
prices will come down, I will
purchase it and try my hand in the
artistic pursuits all over again,
till then a sabbatical along with a
better paying job is a good idea,
Della yawns, and walks out, Jim continues with the photograph of
Della and try to place a Lavie bag, but he fails technology is
not his cup of tea. Out of frustration, he draws a rough sketch
on a paper with the help of wax colors. He sketches the same
photograph of Della and places a Lavie purse in her hands.
However, the realization that the era of paper and fine arts are
over, he feels frustrated and throws the paper into the dust bin,
his aim fails and the paper falls on the floor.
Dissolves to
EXT/ SUN RISING IN THE SKY/ DAY
INT/DELLA’S FRONT DOOR-MAIL BOX /DAY
Della checks the mail and finds a quotation send by a company.
She opens it, it is about a digital pen and the cost of this pen
is $ 4000. She folds it back and drops in the mailbox.

INT.LOCKER ROOM OF THE FAST FOOD JOINT- DAY
Della and Julian are standing in front of a locker, Della hands
over a bag to Julian.
JULIAN
Think again Della, I am leaving for
Alabama tonight, I don’t think I
will return to New York ever.
DELLA
(She is in tears)

wedding photographs.

EXT/ LAVIE SHOWROOM-NIGHT
Julian and Della are walking on the pavement, Della’s favorite
purse is not present there, instead, a tag of SOLD is explaining
its absence. Both Julian and Della share a look and start
laughing.

EXT/ GATE OF A COMPUTER SHOP/ DAY
Jim Walks out of the shop, he is supercharged and elated. He is
holding a bag in his hand.
EXT/ SKYLINE OF THE CITY/ NIGHT
The sky is full of crackers; one of the crackers explodes in the
sky and forms “MERRY XMAS”

INT/EXT/ JIM & DELLA’S HOUSE/ NIGHT
Della opens the main gate and enters inside the house, it is
dimly lit, and most of the parts are not visible, an Authentic X-
mas tree glittering with artificial fruits made by the reflector
paper greets her. A pair of hands uncovers her eyes, it is Jim,
and Jim takes her to the dressing table and lit up the room.
Tears roll out of the eyes of DELLA when she finds the same Lavie
purse placed in front of the mirror. She hugs Jim in excitement,
JIM
Now, wear your pink dress and walk for me…
DELLA
But I sold it.
JIM
(Disgusted) Why???
DELLA
Because digital paintbrush is more
important for us, you can create
abstract art, sell those paintings
and purchase, even more, expensive
dresses for me.
She picks out a digital pen Wrapped in a golden packing. Now it
is Jim’s turn to cry.
JIM
But I sold my designing console to Robby.
DELLA

But Why??
JIM
Because I don’t need to be an
abstract artist to paint the
prettiest object that I have ever
seen…you… my love, I will wait for
my time to come. Happiness can’t
wait, but ambition can wait.

INT/ JIM’S WORK STATION/ NIGHT
Jim and Della are cozying with a glass of wine, they are in a
tight embrace, the focus of the visual brings Jim’s empty
workstation in the foray. On the background, we can see the

Fortunately, emotions and the
feeling of love is not dependent on
the movements of Sensex, on that
fateful Christmas night in 2006, I
realized that we are not searching
for the goods that fulfill our
needs, instead, we search for new
needs, that can be fulfilled by the

goods, I might sound anti-
consumerism, but it is true, Jim
was right, in the year, 2019, most
of the developed countries of this
world discarded the use of vinyl
prints and the era of canvas
painting, oil paints, and organic
creativity came back in Vogue. The
Lavie, purse also went out of the
Vogue, but the emotions attached to
it will never go out of the vogue
because they are recession-proof.
