Using a Sport example, demonstrate your understanding of 4 of Fayol’s Management
principles, and its application in Sport.
Fayol’s management principles are related to the practical experiences that can be used in
any management situations irrespective of the frameworks of the organizations. In the case of
sports associations, management of the different levels of stakeholders become critical. Among
the 14 principles, 4 most important and relevant principles are discipline, unity of direction,
initiative and subordination of individual interest to the general interest (Moen, 2017). Discipline
relates to the mandatory fact that a football team has to have discipline so that respect for the
agreements can be achieved. This leads to have obedience, energy, application and outward arks
of respect. The unity of direction is the process of implying the objectives are achieved by all
the team members. The initiative and subordination of individual interest to the general interest
relates to the focusing upon the interest of the group rather than of the individual. If each of the
football team members thinks only of the development of their own then the team will suffer.
Using the Four Frames Model, provide a rationale either in support or in rejection of
partnerships with men’s league and women's leagues at the professional level.
The Four Frames Model, the four categories are structural frame, human resource frame,
political frame and symbolic frame. The partnership of the men’s league with that of the women
has different factors like image of leadership, organizational ethics and basic leadership
challenges and contribution. The rules, roles, policies, goals and environment are different
structurally in these two leagues (Edwards, 2018). In the human resource it can be stated that the
needs, relationships and skills are different of those of the members. In the political aspects the

power execution conflict, policies and competition are different in men and women league. The
central concepts relate to culture, ceremonies and rituals of the organization. The basic
leadership challenges and contributions are also different in the men’s league and women’s
league. In terms of structural it is leadership contribution is authoritative, human resource is
developed upon the bond of love, political power and symbolic will be significant.
Demonstrate your understanding of 4 of Hersey, Blanchard, & Johnson’s Types of Power
and their application to a sport leadership example familiar to you.
According to Hersey, Blanchard, & Johnson’s Types of Power, there is no one particular
leadership model is applicable for the sports management. This is due to the fact that the factors
relating to the sports organizations keep on changing with time and condition. This is the reason
why the leaders tend to change their styles of leadership with time and the abilities of the
members of the team (Mahindru et al., 2018). For example, the football team members have
different capabilities and different responsibilities to contribute their skills for the growth or
success of the team. Now the leadership in the team if try to bring all of them in the same path,
then conflict will be started. This is the reasons why the model speaks for following style relating
to grow takes relevant as well as relationship relevant. This will be supportive for convincing all
the members easily in one hand and motivate them to meet the goals.
Briefly describe the social construction of Privilege, Racism, and Bias, and their
connection(s) through a Sport Industry example familiar to you.
The social construction of any country gives birth to Privilege, Racism, and Bias and
these are reflected in the sports industries also. As sports industry of any market has exclusive
competition, therefore the corruption level gets higher. In the sports authority, the intention of
the government is high therefore in the selection process, the biasness and racism are found in
