1FEMINISM THOUGHT AND ACTION
The purpose of the following essay is to determine the place of the women in the society
in the face of patriarchy. Some of the issues related to this issue have already been pointed out in
the proposal section. Therefore, it would be of great importance to measure the roles of women
in satisfying the bodily pleasure of men. Several perspectives have been there regarding the male
gaze towards the women. It is very important to note that males have been taking the advantage
of women in the current situation within the society (Waterman and Chiauzzi: 146). In this
section, the contents will be developed on the basis of the research questions already developed
in the paper. The females in the society have to pay the price of their virginity and reputation in
the society so they can meet the satisfaction of women in the society. In this essay some
important aspects will be discussed regarding the place of women within the society and the
viewing men and women on different terms regarding the issue of sex. Therefore, it would be
interesting to see how women are still treated as sexual slaves of men and they do not have an
independent identity in this perspective.
Thesis statement: The women in current society are still treated as sexual possessions of
males.
Male pleasure and paying the price for female have been very much interconnected
matters in the current social atmosphere. The different perspectives between men and women on
hooking up and having sex are really something important (Schalet). These things must be
considered within this scenario. According to some critics, men in the modern society want to
have sex only for fun and enjoy their life (Waterman and Chiauzzi: 146). On the contrary,
women want to have sex out of passion and pure love only. It is a rendered as a game for men as
they hook up with women, meet their physical needs and get satisfied. Generally, they do not
have any psychological connection in this scenario with women (Cooper: 53). They are only

interested in sexual intercourse and playing with the emotions of girls and women. However,
women generally get involved physical relationships with more than partners and they are called
a slut for that. Many feminists have argued against this process and they have questioned about
the loyalty of men in the society (Friedan: 198). If the character of men can be forgiven, why
only women should be blamed for their similar actions? It is a big matter of debate indeed. Their
belief is women only get into multiple physical relationships because of their desire to be loved
and cared for. For them, love is the only essential thing and physical and sexual intimacy is just a
part of this. If this is regarded as guilt, women are labeled as sluts and men are let gone with the
reputation of just hooking up (Cooper: 53).
The second issue is related to the aspect of virginity. This question has always been an
important factor regarding the reputation of women and their acceptability within the society.
The concept of a tissue determines the reputation of women in the society. Therefore, this
perspective or practice is not acceptable from any point of view. Feminists are of the opinion that
women should have the independence of their mind and they should have the right about their
physical partner as well (Friedan: 198). So, it should be noted that only men in the society are not
judged whether they are virgins or not. The women’s virginity has to be determined before their
marriage and this determines if she is pure or not. If she is found not to be a virgin, they are
unable to find a good bridegroom for their marriage (Buss: 47). This is why most women
nowadays are more interested in getting jobs, earning enough money to live by herself and not
getting concerned about this narrowness of the society (Tyburczy: 123). This is where gender
inequality gets a bug attribute and focus.
Another important factor in this scenario is the hook up culture by both males and
females in the society nowadays. When a woman cheats on their partners or hook up with other

guys, it becomes kind of a merciless mistake. If a girl cheats on her partner or hook up with other
guys, they are looked upon as sluts. If this similar thing happens to girl by her male partner,
fingers are not raised on their infidelity. This patriarchy has to be stopped somehow so women
could get their proper status within the society. Otherwise, females will feel to be neglected and
feel they are burdens in the society (Tyburczy: 123). Feminists have opined that most men are
not committed when they are in a relationship with a girl. This is not seen as guilt because
society is biased towards men and their guilt is never highlighted. On the other hand, when
women are involved in this case, they lose their social status and respect in front of their elders
as well (Schalet). So, women have to be quite familiar with this situation as they have only two
options before them. Either they have to tolerate all this injustice without any protest or they
have to stand up, break the barriers and live their lives according to their will without any
concerns about the society (Gerhard: 449).
The second research question for the essay as per the proposal is regarding the price that
females have to pay. According to the opinions of the critics, women are more emotional and
weaker than men in these things. Experts analyzing women psychology have suggested that
women are more viable to emotional threats by males. In the current times, women are sexually
harassed by males in their workplaces as well (Tyburczy: 123). This is why they have very little
to protest in these situations. So, they are exploited by men physically and emotionally and they
are forced to build the sexual partnership with men in the society (Buss: 47). Therefore, men get
away without any liabilities and responsibilities and women have to suffer the consequences. In
some cases, women are the guilty party because they sometimes exploit these men. It is simply
because allegations cannot be put only on men simply since this is not one-way-traffic. There are
several unwritten rules about sex culture in the modern society (Gerhard: 449). People want

something more in this era and this is similar for both men and women. Sometimes both go into
depression if they are loyal enough and feel they are cheated (Rowbotham: 27).
Sometimes there are differences in the sexual activities by the taking sexual pleasures.
This is something different as experienced by men and women. The experts have opined that
women enjoy more in the sexual intercourse and they are likely to be in the process for more
time than men. The differences occur in the time span of orgasm for both men and women. So,
this has created a line between them as well. In this scenario, it is of absolute significance that
physical desires of women would vary from that of men. A big difference lies in the fact orgasm
has to play a smaller role in women that it plays within women (Rowbotham: 27). These are the
variants for measuring the typical sexual satisfaction differences between men and women.
These are completely biological things but social pundits and people interested in moral policing
have interpreted that sexual hunger of women is much more than women and this is the reason
for them to get involved in illicit physical relationships (Rivers: 38). This argument can be
countered by saying that it is men who tend to make more physical relationships on an average
as they are free of liabilities and responsibilities within the society. Social barriers can be broken
by anyone and this should not be judged from single viewpoint (Schalet).
The third topic for argument lies in the differences in the sex industry. The critics have
drawn on the fact of using sex toys by both men and women. It must be remembered that both
men and women have affinity with using sex toys for pleasure. This is even more evident for
women who are engaged in same sex relationships. If their partner is another woman, she will
need a sex toy like dildo or something to satisfy each other. Otherwise, their sexual desires will
be left unfulfilled (Rivers: 38). This will have negative impacts on their sexual enjoyment as
well. The use of Viagra is evident among both men and women. There are several sex toys

available for men in different forms and shapes (Paige, Moore, and Price: 259). In comparison,
they are lesser than women sex toys. The main difference that lies in this fact is regarding the
erogenous zones of men and women. Therefore, women have more options to satisfy their
physical pleasures even without the help of their male partners (Armstrong, Hamilton, and
England: 22). It has been rendered by several experts that number of erotic zones is high and
they have to be approached in different ways Biological experts have suggested that there are
many erotic zones among women like clitoris, g-spot, lateral vaginal wall and many others
(Schalet).
A big question is concerned within this scenario and it is if women can take Viagra as a
sexual medicine. It has been examined by clinical experts about the impact of Viagra on the body
of women. In case of accidental sexual intercourse, women have options to use contraceptive
pills so they can avoid unexpected pregnancy. These things, too, should not be used in a regular
basis (Armstrong, Hamilton, and England: 22). It has several negative impacts. Sometimes,
women with low sexual desire take Viagra to boost it up. Clinical practitioners have addressed
this fact that Viagra might boost up sexual desire among women but it would have negative
implications on their minds like dizziness, fainting and low blood pressure (Paige, Moore, and
Price: 259).
So, apparently this will be problematic for women in various aspects. Sometimes, there
are several chances of reproduction related diseases among both men and women. Many times
women have been underrepresented in the clinical trials in several cases. Women are more likely
to get infected by these diseases as they have to carry the baby throughout their pregnancy period
(Michelle, and McClelland: 297). Many times medicines like Aspirin would lower the chances of
heart disease among women. There are more reproductive dysfunctions within women like

Endometriosis, Uterine Fibroids, Gynecologic Cance, HIV/ AIDS and many others. Apart from
HIV/ AIDS, there are no chances of reproductive diseases being caused among men. Therefore,
experts have identified that it is always the women who have been on the receiving end because
of these gender inequalities within the society. They have to bear loss of reputation, mental and
physical issues in their lives because of these hazards (Michelle, and McClelland: 297).
On a concluding note, it can be said that the topic of female price of male pleasure is
quite important from the perspectives of gender inequality within the society. Women in the
society have always been cornered from all the aspects. However, it is the women who are
blessed with the responsibility of giving birth to children. So, women are always pure by their
soul. In some cases, the infidelity of women has been seen as an opportunity to portray them as
some hated creatures. This is not always the right thing to do since males are most of the times
not loyal enough to raise their fingers at women. So, it is very clear that women are exploited by
males to be sexually viable. In this case, women are victimized with many sexually transmitted
diseases. There are many differences between men and women in enjoying the sexual pleasures
and using sex toys. The different perspectives of viewing men and women regarding hook up
culture has also been discussed in this essay.
