The name of the event and details:
The chosen event is the Melbourne international comedy festival which is held in Melbourne
Australia. This festival generally lasts for around one month. This is the most famous festival in
Australia which takes place every year. This festival starts in March and it generally ends in
April. In previous, this festival opens at the April fool's day but now this festival opens at the
mid-time of the march. This festival takes place in the town hall of Melbourne (Sherlock 2016).
Various famous and renowned comedians performed at this festival. In the year 2014, there are
around 470 shows and 6500 performances are performed by more than 2300 artists. The artists
who are participated in this festival are mostly from China, Canada, US, Ireland and the UK also.
Now the number of shows increases in recent days. This festival is lit up with various shows like
a sketch show, debates, musicals, theatre and dramas and art exhibition also. Many aspiring
stands up comedians get a huge platform to show their talents. This festival gives them huge
recognition. The ticket price for this festival is quite affordable for the commoners. It is average
25- 30$ for a single ticket. The price of this ticket varies to the shows or events. Sometimes we
can get a ticket at 10$ also. The main event partner of this festival is creative Victoria which is a
governmental organization (Northover 2016). This organization is part of this festival for many
years. The media partner of this festival is nova 100 and herald sun which is a very famous news
media organization of Australia. There are various other supporters are there without them the

festival is incomplete which are newsboys foundation, 1 cover travel insurance etc. This festival
is the world’s third largest and greatest comedy festival among the others. Thus various famous
guests were also made their appearance throughout this festival.

We can get these brief descriptions and knowledge basically from the media coverage.
We can see that there are two or more nowadays news organization are associated with
this festival and events. Nowadays technologies are vastly increasing and make their
prominent presence in our everyday life. With the help of social media, we can get
detailed information. Some common people who are attending this festival put their
picture on their social media (Luckhurst and Rae 2016). This way the decoration and all
of the arrangements have become public of this festival. With the help of these social
media people who cannot afford or able to join this festival, they can easily enjoy all of
the segments from home. Nowadays famous TV networks are also covering this festival
as it is considered as the third most popular and famous comedy how in the world.

As we can see that this festival has some positive and negative impacts both. In this festival
people who are participating in the competitions held here are mostly from outside of
Australia. We all know this festival gives a huge platform to those all aspiring new talents,
but this festival also gives the common people fun and pleasure as well. Nowadays people
are very busy with their work and schedule. Thus they can never get much time to spend that
with themselves or their family (Stevens 2016). This festival can erase all barriers.

important for living as well. I must recommend this festival to those all people who are living
a very monotones life. Moreover, this festival gives people that opportunity to meet their
idols as many famous actors, sportspersons are making their appearance at this festival
sometimes as a host or sometimes as a visitor.
Recommendations about the attaining the aims and objectives:
Every year more than 10000 visitors come to witness this festival and spend a whole
month here. Thus, the infrastructural development is very important. The event organizer
is very experienced and qualified as they know precisely what this festival represents the

reputation of a country thus they all are already very concern about the infrastructural
development. But still every year the requirements and the perspectives are changed.

As we can see that this festival is considered as the third famous comedy festival all over
the world thus, in my opinion, the budget of this festival must be higher than the
previous. The government must consider larger money to introduce more fun act ivies in
this festival. The organizer can promote various global issues and can spread awareness
among this festival using this platform as this festival gives us a huge platform to
communicate with people all around the world.
