i). The text type being identified from the case is factual text. Because it is informing,
instructing and persuading the giving facts and information about Fidel Castro. The two
pieces of evidence from the text to support this is “in 1952, Fulgencio Batista launched a
military coup” and the other one is “Castro claimed that he was driver into the arms of the
Soviet Union”.

iii). The tone in regards with the subject matter has been changed in the text “But he faced
accusations ....Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz was...”. I think, this was the sudden change in the
tone. Here the author is first telling in serious tone and in the next sentence he became formal
and assertive.

i). The author has discussed both the views and given his opinions in this text. Firstly, he
stated that Fidel Castro was a divisive figure and in the second sentence he said about his
acquisitions. Secondly, in one sentence he stated about the failure of Fidel Castro and in the
second sentence about his victory in the last stance of the text one.
