Growing towards a uniform classification system for mental disorders
Goals
Establishing benchmarks, formulation of guidelines and good practice exchange
Assessment by the mental health care professional concerning existence of a mental disorder
among the mentally ill to guiding towards their treatment.
Offering guidance in diagnostic process through a comprehensive, empirically and supported
definitions.
Monitoring: including incidence rates, prevalence rates, burden of disease rates and other
relevant indicators
Objectives
To ensure that there is a significant reduction in mental illness cases across the region.
To promote proper forms of treatment and therapies for the mentally ill.
To establish holistic strategies that adolescents and children can use to improve and maintain
mental health.
To identify maximum ways to enhance and support a holistic mental health approach.
Mental illness can be addressed holistically using many approaches. One if the approaches is
whereby, the practitioners evaluate the patients’ health picture completely and perform an
examination on how all the body systems connect before finally determining a healing plan.
