It explains the different leadership roles that exist within the organisation and the various leadership styles that can be adopted. The report also discusses how the structure and culture of the organisation can support effective transitional change. Additionally, it analyses and evaluates ways in which Fitflop can build effective teams through motivation.

Introduction
People in organisations play an important role in the organisation. People act as a
medium wherein the organisations tend to transform several informational and physical
resources in order to serve value to the customers through products and services. People in
organisations work upon generation of business ideas that further helps in solving problems,
making decisions as well as deriving upon decisions and further generates learning in order to
enhance the organisation (Wilkinson and Bergen, 2021).
The report revolves around the concept of People in Organisation in context of FitFlop.
FitFlop is a footwear retailer that has personalised in terms of health and well being through the
creation of own programme as well as structured around five crucial areas. FitFlop has decided
upon making clear easy and clear information for the employees by focussing upon finance,
neighbourhood, friend, mind as well as body. Fitflop is presently working with the United
Kingdom retail trust in order to provide guidance and support for the employees in times of
financial difficulty (Rossi, 2021).
Main Body
Question 1- Provide the explanation of role of leadership that might exist within the fitflop along
with the ways in which the structure and culture of the organisation may support effective
transitional change.
Role of leadership that may exist within Fitflop
Leadership might be referred to the process of influencing other people to work hard and
in better manner so that the business can easily accomplish its objectives. The leaders are
required to inspire several employees in order to put in more efforts that they are required to
perform. Leader is a person who is capable of inspiring and driving people towards the target or
the aim (Walton And et.al., 2021).
A leader is required to focus upon people and they are responsible for setting up new
targets that are required to be accomplished. The leaders are to concentrate on the long term
goals and also the leaders are elected by the group of people.
Leadership has an important role to play at the organisation. The leadership roles that
may exist within Fitflop have been explained below (Pettersson, Leis-Peters and Swart, 2021).

 Directors- The directors are basically the leaders that are elected by the shareholders of a
public or the private organisation into the office. Directors can be an effective leadership
role at Fitflop. Directors are basically the senior mangers who are elected by the
employees of the organisation in order to represent the shareholders in the organisation.
The directors basically focus upon formulation of the of the corporate and the
departmental objectives. Further, the directors focus upon ensuring if the goals of the
organisations are being met (Mahase, 2021).
 Managers- The managers can also be a leadership role at the Fitflop. Managers are
basically the individuals who are responsible for the senior managers who are responsible
for estimation of several resources such physical resources, financial resources as well as
human resources. Managers are also play a crucial role in the decision making process.
The managers at Fitflop tend to have some control over the employees or the staff of the
organisation that fall under them in the hierarchy level of the organisation. The managers
of the organisation are required to ensure if the rules are being followed at the
organisation properly.
 Supervisors- Supervisors can also act as the leadership role at Fitflop. The supervisors are
referred as the employee of the organisation whose aim is to oversee or monitor the work
of the employees that fall below them in the organisational hierarchy. The supervisors are
basically appointed by the management in order to keep a watch upon the workers.
Supervisors are basically the team leaders who have no take or contribution towards the
decision making process in the organisation. The supervisors are basically the employees
at the organisation who have the mandate to help the employees of the organisation to
accomplish the corporate objectives (Macqueen, Bolin and Greijmans, 2021).
 Representative of the workers- Representative of the workers are basically the employees
who tend to represent several other employees of the organisation. The employees who
act as the representative of the workers can also be a leadership role at Fitflop. The
representatives of the workers play a huge role during the negotiations with the
management. The representative of the workers are basically the ones who are elected by
the workers who tend to present and share the views and ideologies of the workers with
the management of the organisation. The person elected as the representative of the
workers are required to possess good communication skills.

There are several leadership styles that can be chosen be the Fitflop in order to enhance the work
culture and environment of the organisation. The leadership styles are suitable and applicable in
the several circumstances out of which the managers and the leaders use any of them or more
than one leadership depending upon the situation. There are three main styles of leadership like
autocratic leadership, democratic leadership as well as laissez faire leadership. There are several
styles of leadership that can be adopted by Fitflop in aspect of the several situations that are
being faced by the organisation (Locatelli and et.al., 2021).
 Autocratic leadership- Autocratic leadership is a leadership style that focuses upon the
assumption that all the responsibilities for several aspects lie with the leader itself. In
autocratic leadership the communication is one way. This leadership style can be used
wherein confidential decisions have to be taken and employees do not have ample
experience regarding the situation and hence can not be trusted. This leadership style can
be used at Fitflop when the quick solutions are required in the emergency cases. In
autocratic leadership, the management omits or ignores the opinions of the employees
and further some innovative ideas can also get ignored.
 Democratic leadership- Democratic leadership style is a leadership style that focuses
upon the involvement of the employees during the decision making process. Democratic
leadership style is also known as participative leadership style. Under this leadership
style, the senior managers focus upon a final decision with the consultation and
participation of the employees during the decision making process. Democratic
leadership style focuses upon a two way communication. Fitflop might adopt to the
democratic leadership when the organisation wishes to enhance the quality of the
decisions. It will help in increasing the morale of the employees at Fitflop. The
democratic leadership is feasible when the cooperation is required between leaders and
team (Leixnering, Meyer and Polzer, 2021).
 Laissez faire style of leadership- In the laissez faire style of leadership, the employees
tend to have a huge control over their own work and hence the management tends to have
a lesser impact upon the input decisions. The laissez faire leadership can be performed
when the employees are highly skilled as well as self motivated. Laissez faire leadership
is also referred as the non authoritarian leadership style. In this leadership style, the
leader is only required to formulate the goals for their subordinates and further tend to

explain the parameters so that the employees can perform accordingly in order to
accomplish the objectives. The laissez faire leadership style is feasible at Fitflop when the
employees of the organisation are highly skilled as well as experienced and have more
knowledge regarding the situation in comparison the leader. Also, Laissez faire
leadership can be adopted by Fitflop when the leaders of the organisation are looking
forward towards employee empowerment (Khan and et.al., 2021).
Contribution of structure and culture of the organisation to support effective transitional
change
The structure and culture of an organisation plays a crucial role in order to have an
effective transitional change. Organisational culture tends to revolve around the development of
the organisational structure, further the cultural change is very essential in order to change the
structure of the firm. Also, the organisational structure can remain constant at Fitflop but the
culture of the organisation has a probability to get changed if the management changes the ways
of assigning the roles in the organisational structure.
Several ways in order to support effective transitions in which the structure and culture of
the organisation have the effects have been discussed below in detail.
 Employee involvement- The management teams of Fitflop can witness the need and
requirement of culture change. In order to cope with the requirement, it is essential to
introduce changes in the organisational structure of Fitflop. The changes could be made
in order to enhance the responsiveness of the organisation towards the changing
conditions of the market.
 Strong culture- Even though, the organisation has a strong organisational culture, it is
essential for the organisation to bring amendments in the organisational structure. Fitflop
may focus upon the culture in order to introduce changes so that the highly committed
employees can further focus upon new products and services that will help in considering
the needs and requirement of the customers in the market (Gupta, Kavanagh and Disney,
2021).

are motivated then are more likely to contribute more to the company. The responsibilities can be
carried out by employees with better execution. As per the chosen company, it can motivate the
employees by stop doing multitasking as being a human being it is not possible to do
multitasking so, the team are allowed to focus on one task at one time.
Recognize- Company can motivate the employees by recognizing their work so that a healthy
bond can be made in the company betweeon the employees and employers. Employees feel
engaged, motived and valued by this technique of recognition. This is important for overall
company that is for employees and team.
Positive environment- The positive environment allows the company to make sure about the
growth and safety of the team. When the environment is positive it will directly improves the
morale of team mates because the employees can be more productive by being in positive
environment as they will be affected by the people around them at he workplace.
Enthusiasm- The chosen company can motivate the employees by motivating them from inside
with each employee that inspire individuals to understand their responsibility and challenges.

When the employees are highly enthusiastic they will be more willing to work and learn from the
activities.
Training- If any company wants to increase the level of retention rate that can be improved by
focusing on the training level of the employees or team. With the help of training the employees
the chosen company can keep them updated with the new technology for improving the quality
of product or services. Such training helps the employees to learn new skills that will lead to
enhance the level of productivity (Chen, 2021).

job then, it can bring flexible management,teamwork and resources in the chosen company. This

trainings and programs so that the team can learn and acquire new things and learnings. Fliptop
can also use several motivational tools like financial as well as non financial incentives in order
to enhance the development of the employees at the organisation.
Innovation- When the employees are motivated they feel happier to work and contribute more to
the organisation. By being highly motivated and focused the employees can improve the areas of
innovation by making continuous progress. The chosen company can enhance the level of
commitment, energy and innovation for the up liftment of the company.
