CE 1.1 Project InformationName of the project: Flexible Cardiac Sensor DevelopmentLocation of the project: Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy(SASTRA) University (Electronics Engineering), TanjoreProject Duration: From September of 2011 to December of 2011Organization: Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy (SASTRA)UniversityRole and Designation during the time: Team Member of the projectCE 1.2 Project BackgroundCE 1.2.1 Characteristics of the projectThe project of Flexible Cardiac Sensor Development was the first major project in myengineering career. The main aim of this project was to develop a sensor that would help inreading the heart beats of human beings. It supervised the entire signal of ECG orElectrocardiography with the eventual help of the two fabricated electrode patches for findingany type of indiscretion within the signal. When any kind of discrepancy is found in the ECGsignal, the information is sent wirelessly to any computer system by utilizing a specific wirelessmodule. Three distinct electrode systems are utilized for obtaining any type of electrical signalfrom the human heart.

CE 1.2.2 Objectives developed for the projectThe project of Flexible Cardiac Sensor Development had several specific objectives. Themain objectives for the project are as follows:To develop a cardiac sensorTo monitor the signal of electrocardiographyTo search any type of irregularity in ECGTo analyze the performance of sensorsCE 1.2.3 My area of workMy first task was to select a topic for our project. As this was my first project, I was extracautious about the topic of the project. I chose the topic of Flexible Cardiac Sensor Developmentas cardiac sensors are the most important tool in medical field. My next area of work was tocomplete the documentation part in the entire project. I knew that if the report will not be madeperfectly, it is evident that the rest of the project will also be a failure. Hence, it was myresponsibility to make the project with perfectness and sincerity. As this my first big project, myproject leader and all the fellow team members helped me out in understanding the projectcompletely and complete the documentation part. My next work was to assist my project leaderfor analyzing the performance of those sensors.

After severalbrainstorming sessions with my team members, I selected the project of Flexible Cardiac SensorDevelopment. The second responsibility that I had in the project was documentation. I made surethat the report was made perfectly and it contained every detail of the project. I wanted toprovide good results for the finding all kinds of irregularities in the ECG signals. Moreover, Iwas given the responsibility for noting any type of discrepancy in the signals of ECG. Since theproject was related to heart, I gave special attention to the documentation part. Next, I intendedto do the analysis of the overall performance of cardiac sensors, which would be fabricated byutilizing the Graphene deposition on a vulcanized rubber, the normal electrode of AgCl gel andthe AgCl incorporated with the graphene powder. The raw materials of this project were not
