Importance of requisite skills in food & beverage operations The requisite skills in food & Beverage operations includes inventory management skills with high level of versatility and skilled and trained employees who are able to handle various job. The highly skilled and well trained employees with knowledge about various fields and job facilitates an option for easy job rotation at the time of some adverse situation or rush-full time to meet the customers orders and needs on time. Beside this, knowledge about property management system is also essential to have proper take care of clients and customers luggage and other inventory of a hotel. Impact on knowledge on food & beverages in the hospitality This Guest session has a positive impact in enhancing knowledge about Food and beverage operations in a hospitality sector through providing relevant knowledge about various types of services provided by a 3 star hotel together with knowledge about limited operations and various types of cocktail and mock-tail services. It has enhanced my knowledge about the operations and functions of kitchen and front office staff and importance of being versatile in order to have better future in hospitality sector. This guest session also lead better knowledge and understanding about facility maintenance and management of operations and inventory in Food and beverage operations of a hotel. Self appraisal of understanding and key skills required in facilities management On the basis of this Guest session it has been analysed by me that being versatile and able to 3
handle and perform various job in kitchen and front desk is one of the most important requisite in facilities management together with an effective knowledge about the inventory and property management. The Food and beverage operation in facilities management must have ability to cook with proven management experience and effective communication skills to maintain customers happiness and health. The skill requisite forfacilities managementalso includes service oriented skills together with high levee of patient and friendly nature to have a better atmosphere and customer oriented environment in order to attract more customers and clients for hotel. Based on self appraisal, what can be done to improve on these skills The guest speaking session is quite effective in providing theoretical knowledge about various aspects and operation related with food and beverage operations in facilities management and enhanced our knowledge on various topics discussed including operations of kitchen and front desk staff and food and menu offered at a hotel. To have improvement in our skills and knowledge a practical learning is more useful s it provide a real experience of working and laed to better development of skills. Shape understanding of food and beverage operations This Guest speaking session has shaped ore knowledge about food and beverage operations through making us more aware about the various practises, operations and services included in food and beverage started from purchasing a good quality raw material, preparing tasty and healthy food and beverage, keeping check and monitoring of inventory together with continuous management of catered events and maintaining service quality. 4
