Engaging Introduction to task and Interviewee
In this task, I am going to take interview of my mum who is going to share her views on her food habits
and how she managed her diet with the time and at different locations. My mother is 58 year old; she is
a housewife and also helps my father in our farm to grow vegetables. We are living together and my
mum used to cook food for us but in the busy schedule we all cook food and have the meals together.
I will question about the food habits of my mother. My mum is very health conscious and always tries to
make the food with the fresh vegetables as we are living in village so we have no aces to the
restaurants so, we hardly eat fast food. On the Sundays, she cooks meat for us and we have it together
by siting in a circle over a mat. My mum used to cook at home whatever we want eat but always tries to
maintain some distance from fast food which is not good for health.
INTERVIEW QUESTIONS AND ANWERS
Q1: What type of meals do you like?
I usually love to have fresh vegetables from my farm and I mainly cook non-spicy food to maintain the
good health of the family. I always try to avoid using excessive oils into the food which is not good for
health for the whole family.
Q2: What do you make in breakfast, lunch, and dinner?
In the breakfast, we mainly have eggs and bread, yogurt, fresh olives, and Zataar. In the lunch, I cook
Vege stews with rice and chickpeas. In the dinner we mainly have light food so we cook some rice with
any kind of vegetable along with this in the snack time; we mainly have sandwiches with the home
made jam as we do not like to have junk food.
Q3: Do u have any kind of food which you loved the most?
Yes, On Sundays, or any other festive day, we usually love to have meat. I also make food which has
demanded by my family.
Q4: Do you think that age different changes the food behaviors of any person.

Yes, I do believe that age really matters and its changes one’s food pattern completely. Like with the
age, we also get many medical complications which resist us to avoid particular food which must be
consider as a part of healthy life style.
Q5: How was your food stored?
We used to store all the wheat flour in the big metal barrels, and glass jars for rice and sugar. We never
eat packed food as it is not good for health
Q6: Did you always have enough to eat?
Yes, we always have enough food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We also go out to eat some special
food.
Discuss Key changes and Provide Evidence-Based Rationale
Yes, I do believe that with the increasing number of age, it is very important to bring some necessary
changes to eating patterns to avoid medical complexities.
I have seen that earlier, my mother used to eat lot of meat on weekends or on any special day. But now
she is 58 years old and she knows that excessive meat would leave nothing but bad health because
meat always cooks with lot of oil into it which is really bad for health.
So, she has just avoided eating meat and has started having eggs, green vegetables, and many other
kinds of vegetables which are healthy and nutritious.
When we come out from our village to search new job with good earning, then I saw some major
changes in my mother diet, as she is an asthmatic patient, on the new location, there is polluted air
which is just depleting her health, then doctors has recommended her to avoid some major food which
are highly bad for these patient and also tell us to be at safe place.
I believe that food patterns changes with the age gap, or when any location changes. Therefore, it is to
be believed that cultural changes, economic changes or any other changes influence our food choice.
In the war times, we have left with no house and money, so due to our poor economic condition that
time, it gets so hard for our family to purchase anything healthy. So, food choices changes with the time
(Ranadheera and Adams, 2010).
Have Changes been Positive or Negative regarding food, security, health or other
nutrition-related issues?
The results are positive as the mother has become more conscious of her meals. They have learned to
avoid fatty foods and high cholesterol. After the interview, the candidate’s mother has added beans as it
is the most powerful anti-diabetes medicines found in the grocery. She is feeling secure and confident

about healthy activities. Intake of eggs has increased in her diet as eggs have ample health benefits.
Adding fiber in the diet is the magical development after the interviewee. She has removed Pizza as
well as other fast foods from other table and other nuts, legumes, vegetables, fruits etc. She has
realized that each passing birthday, aches and pains will become more common. So, proper care must
be taken. Fat loss meals and nutrient-packed leafy grains like spinach are making a regular presence in
her diet. She is avoiding salt and excess sugar for controlling blood pressure as well as sugar in her
blood.
