The article has demonstrated the present day rise of U.K.’s food poverty. Here, the causes for
that and few ways how this could be addressed through third or voluntary sector having specific
focus on the food banks. Utilizing various anthropological ideas like stigma, shame, gifting and
reciprocity of few the contradictions and complexities arising at the situation are investigated. From
the lens of food aid and food poverty, the author poses different queries regarding the entitlement
and rights and also political economy of austerity and inequality. The policies indicates them and
searches for investigating the anthropology as the effective contribution to be made at the sector.

More than 14 million are staying with poverty. They are experiencing the vulnerability n
various dimensions. The study shows the statistics on the community-based food aid of UK that
mainly lies on the people using 1,200 emergency services. These are delivered by food banks of
Trussell Trust. Nonetheless, other 809 independent food aid services that are community based have
the clients challenging the NGOs ad policymakers. This has been highly unaddressed. To respond to
that, the study highlight more nuanced type of evaluation of the temporal experiences of the
consumers regarding food access exclusion and austerity. Apart from that, through identifying
