The report is based on theIntercontinental Hotel Groupswhich is the multinational hotel having its headquartered in Denham, Buckinghamshire, England. The following study will outline the management practices by using the different range of performance review techniques. Further it will outline and recommend the management alternatives in order to improve the performances. MAIN BODY. Assessing management practices within Intercontinental hotel This is hotel is luxury brand that is very well-known for all the food and other services that are provided to large sections of the society in different regions. Also, the hotel is very well- known for creating unique customer experience for all its customers. Moreover, hotel is following various management practices for measuring employee performance that are described as follows: Ranking method:It is method that is used by intercontinental hotel to rank all its employees based on the overall performance given during a specific period. Also, through this technique certain ranks are provided by the rater so that quoted firm is able to focus better on weak rating employees. However, it is time-consuming process intercontinental hotel and hence it is not done on regular basis. Management by objectives:This method is also used for evaluating performance of large number of employees in intercontinental hotel as through this technique quoted firm establishes certain predefined goals for each hotel department so that later management is able to compare the performance of each employee based on these objectives (TOP 7 PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT TIPS AND TECHNIQUES,2021). It is recommended to the quoted firm that it should focus on more on better planning of the resources and other things so that sudden changes in the business environment would not impact the routine business operations of the firm on large scale. Also, for this purpose the hotel should invest more in research department so that hotel remains updated about the change that are occurring in the external environment. Also, it is suggested to intercontinental hotel that it should focus more on motivating employees which is only possible if proper incentive plans are developed and updated on timely basis (Papargyropoulou and et.al., 2019). Furthermore, every employee looks for growth in the firm and hence it is very crucial that incentive plans are able to meet certain expectations of employees so that job satisfaction is maintained. Moreover,itisrecommendedtointercontinentalhotelthatbettertrainingand development plans are introduced for all levels of employees at the workplace so that individuals are able to develop competencies and skills that is required to carry out certain tasks at the workplace (Filimonau and Delysia, 2019). Justifying recommendations to resolve the organizational challenges The organization must have the good implementation plan which helps the company to grow in the market. In order to have good management alternatives the company can have the best management practices in the food services (Tuomi, Tussyadiah and Stienmetz, 2021). The organization must have the proper planning in order to resolve the challenges and hindrances in the organization. By providing training and development to the employees it helps the company to retain the best employees by enhance their knowledge and skills. By doing this it will make the employees to improve their performances in the organization.
