Forced Labour issues have become the major issue when it comes to labour exploitation.
Both business ethics and corporate social responsibilities play a very important role when it
comes to resolving and dealing with the issues of the forced labour. For organizations, it is very
crucial to fulfil their corporate social responsibility and follow the rules and regulations without
exploiting the labour. In reference to the business ethics, they are basically the study of suitable
practices and policies in relation to controversial topics such as corporate social responsibility,
corporate governance, and insider trading and forced labour issues. In reference to the oil palm
planting organization, the company subscribes to the corporate social responsibility in reference
to the business operations with the support of being RSPO and MSPO certified but even though
the company’s shipment was denied entry in the U.S as its production process involved migrant
workers who were facing labour allegations. In reference to the organization, it is very important
that the migrant workers should be treated in a fair manner irrespective of their legal status.
Firstly, they should be given same working conditions as compared to the domestic workers
(Zhang, Oo and Lim, 2019). For the purpose to resolve the forced labour issues involving the
migrant workers, they must had the right to freely enter into or terminate the employment
through a reasonable notice in relation to the national law and within the boundaries of business
ethics. Secondly, it is very important for the employers to take necessary actions for the
objective to prevent the fraud practices and abusive conditions which could result in trafficking
or coercion for labour exploitation. Lastly, it is very important for the company to make sure
that irregular migrant workers and their family members should never be threatened with
denunciation to the authorities.
Also various practices such as withholding or confiscating identity of workers should be
prohibited. In addition to that, the employers should provide secure storage for such kind of
