Activity 1
Upon careful examination of post across USQ and non-USQ platforms, I could observe
noticeable change in the nature of my postings since last year. Adequate patient engagement at
the workplace with patients as well as adhering to my nursing curriculum, has taught me the
value of patient centered care, empathy and reflection in the improvement of nursing practice.
Considering the same, any of my non-USQ posts which casually seemed to discriminate unique
demographic and cultural characteristics were deleted by me, after careful reflection of the
consequences of my actions. Indeed as per Standard 1.1 and Standard 1.2 of the NMBA
Standards of Practice, adherence to reflection, patient centered and cultural competent care aids
in the qualitative improvement of nursing practices (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia,
2019).
Activity 2
For successful completion of the oral presentation, the two specific tasks which are
required to be completed include:
1. The details of the effective non-verbal and verbal communication strategies undertaken
by the nurse for adhering to the care disseminated to Mr. Perkins for improved reader
understanding of existing care status and transition of care into aged care facility in the
patient.
2. An explanation and justification of the details underlying the usage of the grief and loss
framework for initiating the transition of care of Mr. Perkins into the aged care facility.
