INTRODUCTION Health and social care services are provided by medical institutes to their patients so that they can get recovered. Present report is based on cases which describe the situations of different people. In this context, it explains the actions that should be taken by service providers at the time of providing treatment to patients. TASK 12 1.1 Actions that will be taken by professionals in given situations Healthcare professionals should take some actions for their clients or patients. As per the first case, a lady is living at her home but she is partially sighted (Harris-Kojetin and et. al., 2013). In this kind of situation, lady has some visual impairment problems due to which she will not be able to move from one place to another and her dependency level is high on family members. So, professionals can give her a stick or glasses so that she can do her own work effectively. Along with this, some reminders and alarms can also be used by a blind person so that they can take medicine on time and their health will be improved. In another case, a lady will be moving into the normal ward from a C-section. Caesarean section is a kind of place where a mother gives birth to baby through a kind of surgery. The current rate of this has been increased to some extent due to child obesity and increased age of mother. For this, healthcare professional has to provide care to the mother and child both because in this case, the risk level is high (Swayne, Duncan and Ginter, 2012). In the ward, observations are performed by the nurses. For this, blood pressure, heart rate and pain has been checked and if it is satisfactory, then there is no need for medical review. The last case explains condition of a male soldier who is recovering from amputation. This is the condition where an arm or leg of a person has been removed through surgery. In such kind of situation, health care professionals need to take care of the patient so that he can recover from such an unbearable pain. Time to time, service provider has to check the condition of patient so that his condition can get improved. 2.1 Factors that affect the wellbeing of patients Some factors are there which can affect the wellbeing of people and their health conditions in a negative manner (Basinga and et.al., 2011). It is the responsibility of service provider to provide quality treatment to their patients so that they can get recovered from such situations 1
which can affect their health. Physical, psychological and social are some different aspects which can influence the health of people in a negative manner. But in these particular above stated situations, physical and psychological are two main factors that can influence the well-being of people who come at health care centre for their treatment. Physical is related to the visible body parts of a person and psychological is a kind of mental factor that can affect the health of a person. In first case, lady won’t be able to see as she is suffering with a physical disturbance and in another case, patient is suffering with both physical as well as psychological problem. Further, in last case, soldier suffers with a physical issue at the time of surgery.The well being of an individual or patient largely affected by the care given by the nurse in workplace. The various safety measures of the care home also largely affects the health of patient of sufferer. The care home should complied with all the safety rules in order to decrease the chances of risk associated with the injuries. TASK 13 Issues surrounding confidentiality Confidentiality can be related to the privacy of information that will not be shared with any unauthorised person. Sometimes, due to this issue, client has to face many troubles or issues which may affect their privacy as well as personal life. The confidentiality level can be maintained with some specific approaches like data protection, freedom of information and working code of ethics. Data should be protected and secured at safe place so that no one will be able to access it which is private between organization and clients (Prahlad and Agrawal, 2012). Along with this, information can also be protected by using an encryption or decryption technique so that data will be saved in the form of code.A lady will be moving into the normal ward from a C-section. CONCLUSION From the above report, it can be concluded that health care providers should offer quality services to their patients so that they can get recovered soon and with higher satisfaction. Along with this, data protection and code of ethics are some issues related to confidentiality of patient which HSC firms should take care of. 3
