Customs
• Paris is the center of the French culture in reference to
Marks, (2017).
• The town is associated with customs such as
architecture fashion and art.
• Places outside Paris town have a way of life depending
on the people living in the area.
• From history the main source of the way of life in
France is the Gallo-Roman and Celtic cultures.
• Others tribes that have contributed to the culture is
Germanic and Franks tribe.

Language
• Ninety percent of the population in France use
French to communicate.
• However, there is a small group that use German
dialects to communicate, others use Flemish while
least number of people use Arabic language.
• In the border area, some communities use Italian
as their language of communication.
• There are places were affected by former French
colonies and they use Occitan dialects to
communicate.

Religion in France
• The main dominant religion in France is the Roman
Catholic.
• However, there exist other religions such as the
Judaism, Islam and Buddhism according to Kidd &
Reynolds,(2014)..
• Consequently, there exist a group of people in
France who do not belong to any religion, from
statistic it is around 27 percent of the religion.

Clothing in France
• Several fashions of clothes come from Paris.
• There exist fashions of houses in town such as
Hermes, Chanel, Dior and Louis Vuitton.
• On the part of dress, France have various fashions
to meet the need of everybody. For example, there
exist suits, scarves, berets and long coats.

Celebrations
• The culture in France allows celebration of both
Christian and traditional holidays.
• There is Christmas celebrations and the Easter
celebrations.
• There is also Bastille day that the people
celebrate on 1th July.
• Apart from that, there is also the labor day on 1st
May that the citizens join other countries in the
world to celebrate.
