INTRODUCTIONIn this report, different literature review containing qualitative analysis pertaining toefficacy of Functional Analytical Psychotherapy in treating and curing depression have beenidentified and analysed. This analysis of review will help in identifying the effectiveness of FAPtherapy implementation and Prisma Flowchart has also been discussed.MAIN BODYLiterature ReviewTheme 1: FAP implementation in group therapyVandenberghe & Rego Leite (2018),has conducted research that whether FunctionalAnalytical Psychotherapy (FAP) is an effective treatment therapy for depression or not. Theresearcher conducted his research on 21 adult women by conducting weekly sessions of 2 hoursregularly for 16 weeks. All these women were clinically depressed patients who were treated asper the interventions of FAP and these were implemented in group sessions through which thepatients were taught ways of living their life in healthier manner. The researcher implementedFAP therapy so that these depressed patients could address the complaints and difficulties ininterpersonal communication in a much more effective manner. After conducting such sessionsregularly for 16 weeks, it could be concluded that the therapy was effective.Researcher implemented BDI score i.e. Beck Depression Inventory to evaluate theeffectiveness of treatment through FAP and He also implemented Jacobson and Traux' Methodin order to verify that the therapy sessions conducted by him are clinically correct i.e. ofsignificance. The researcher concluded that collectively there were 17 clinically moderatelydepressed patients who showed improvement by entering into non-clinical range and 4 clinicallymildly depressed patients who also depicted improvement in their mental health. Significantly,out of 21 adult women, 12 of them showed signs of reliable as well as clinically significantimprovement and a total of 15 patients who involved in follow-up activities showed signs ofmaintained and continuous improvement over 2 years thus concluding that FAP is an extremelyeffective therapy for treatment of depression.Theme 2: FAP versus Watchful WaitingAs per the view ofMaitland & et.al., (2016), it was further researched that whether thehypothesis that whether FAP works as a change agent in targeting issue of social connectedness.They studied 22 participants who faced issues in formulating interpersonal relationships.
