Introduction
Business is a process through which an organisation generate profit by producing or
selling goods. The main role of business is to satisfy the need and demand of customers by
making a product which can fulfil their wants. With the help of business people get job to make
money so that they can attain their requirements. Business have various key areas which helps to
run the functioning of activities efficiently and effectively. These are also known as department
which helps to make the business profitable. The departments are Marketing, Human Resource
Management, Customer Service, Finance, Research and Development, Sales, IT department,
Production department, etc. These all departments are backbone of any Company, there main
aim is to achieve the Mission and Vision of Organisation. In this report the discussion is based
on the Functional areas of Business and skills required to perform the role in different functional
areas.
Functional areas of Business
Just like human body have different functions to performed which is regulated by
different organs same as Business have different functions which is need to be managed and
controlled by different departments. Functional areas generally means dividing a team who have
similar skills and knowledge of particular field. For example, an organisation have Human
Resource Department in this function the staff will keep their focus on recruiting and selecting
the candidate.
