INTRODUCTION Functional areas refers to the team or group of the employees that are skilled and engaged in similar activities or perform same field of the job (Nawaz and Koç, 2019). IOM electronics Ltd. Is a company that is involved in manufacturing and sales of electronic products. Functional areas of the business plays an important role in the growth of the business. This report will discuss about the functional areas of the IOM electronics Ltd. Along with the skills that are required by the employees to perform the job in the business. MAIN BODY Functional Areas of the organisation There are various areas of the business that are involved in the different activities of the business. Following are the functional area of the IOM electronic Ltd.1.Sales:This functional area of the IOM electronics is involved in the sale of the electronic products of the business. In this area employees are engaged in the selling of the final product that is manufactured in the company. Sale is considered to be the crucial part of the business as the revenue is generated with the sale of the business(Locander, Weinberg and Locander, 2018). It is necessary to identify the sale target for the functional area or sales department of the company. In IOM Ltd., is has been found that the customer generally prefer quality product in the electronics. Approach has been made by the business to receive the idea of the function of the product.2.Marketing:it refers to the preparing the strategy to increase the sale and customer interaction with the help of advertising and marketing approach. Marketing plays an important role in raising sale of product in the market(Gök, Hacioglu and Peker, 2018). It includes the identification and fulfilment of the needs and wants of the customers. The marketing functional area of the IOM electronics tries their best design, promote and update the website of the company. The marketing area develop advertising on the social media, television and other internet platform to increase the reach of the business. Product of the IOM electronics is promoted with the help of various approaches by the marking department in the organisation3.Human Resource:Human resource is the most important asset in the organisation. Management of the human resource isessential part in the smooth running of the
organisation. The function of the human resource management is to planning, monitoring and controlling the activities of the human resource in the organisation(Aust, Matthews and Muller-Camen, 2020). The functions of the human resource management in the IOM electronic is to recruit, train and develop the employees. Approaches to increase the motivationandloyaltyoftheemployeesarealsotakenbythehumanresource management in the business. Human resource management is also involved in ensuring the safety of the employees. These functions of the management lead to the increase in the efficiency of the operations in the business.4.Equipment and technology:this functional area of the organisation is involved in the management of the asset such as digital tools. Equipment are used in the business to perform various operations in the business. This area of the IOM electronics help the organisation in the adoption of the most effective technology method to perform the work in the company. It is also involved in the update of the technology to develop the other functions in the business organisation. Technology is changing very fast and company need to adopt the new techniques in order to increase the growth of the business. Equipment and technology help the business to provide service to the employees related to the technology and digital tools that are used in the production of the electronic items in the organisation.5.Finance:Funds and finance plays very important role in the organisation as every task needs finance to perform the activity. The function of the finance department is to keep the data of the investment, expenses and the revenue ofthe business(KHOMUTENKO andKHOMUTENKO,2020).Allocationofthefundingresourcesandeffective utilization of the funds is the major priority of the finance department in the IOM electronics. This functional area of the business is also involved in the production of invoice, checking whether the payments are received on time and chasing up the overdue payment of the organisation. 6.Research and development:the function of research in order to develop the company is essential in the organisation. Sales employees: Skills and knowledge needed by the employees that are engagement in the sale department of the business are the effective communication, listening and collaboration(Groza, Zmich and Rajabi, 2021). These skills are required to attract the customer of the organisation. Communication of the employee have and important role in the organisation. It is necessary to check the employees possess resilience, adaptability to grow successfully. The sale personal must posses public speaking and objection handling skills to carry out the purchase decision. Marketing Employees: Various skills are needed by the employees in order to perform the marketing function in the organisation. It includes flexible and adaptive management style, vision and strategic planning, data interpretation and analysis and the customer experience(Di Gregorio,Maggioni and et.al., 2019). Employee of the IOM electronics must possess skills related to the content management and innovative thinking to work effectively in performing the marketing function in the business. Skills of human behaviour must possess by the marketer in the organisation that lead to the better understanding of the customer and help in the preparing effective marketing strategy to attract the customers . Human resource management employees: in order to get effective performance in the human resource management the employees must posses the skills and knowledge of communication, organisation and training and development(Guest and Conway, 2011). Understanding of the human behaviour is also necessary to create the efficiency in the work of human resource management in the IOM electronics. Furthermore, human resource managers must possess ethical actions, commitment and compassion to carry out the proper planning in the management of the human resource.
Equipment and technology employees: Skills and knowledge that are required by the employees to perform the function of equipment and technology is the knowledge of the technologyand skills of understanding the new technology. Employee in the IOM electronics is required to have skills ofprogramming languages, common operating systems, software proficiency, technical writing and data analysis. These abilities of the equipment and technology are useful in the quick repair of the technical issues in the organisation. Finance employees:the employees that are involved in the finance management of the organisation are required to have skills related to the effective communication in order to get the financial reporting of the organisation. It is also necessary to check the adequate problem solving skills as well as knowledge of the IT (Information Technology) to carry out the financial task in the IOM electronics. Employee of the finance department should also have analytical skills that can be very useful in the process of allocating the finance and utilise in way that company do not reach out of the funds in hard times. Research and development employees:employees that are involved in the research and developmentfunctionofthebusinessmustpossesstheskillsofproperverbal communication, thinking and reasoning to keep themselves attracted to the organisation. It also helps the company to grow and prosper in the new areas of research.Employee need to have a good analytical skills that can be used in the forecasting of the business with the help of data related to the past performance of the business. Ability to think and assume is also essential for the employees of the research and development department of the IOM electronics. CONCLUSION From the discussion in the report, it can be concluded that the different functions are performed by the organisation to provide goods and services to the customers.IOM electronics were engaged in the production and sales of the electronic items. The functional areas of the business include sales, marketing, human resource, equipment and technology, finance and research and development. Different skills were required by the employees to perform the effective work in the functional areas of the IOM technology.
