INTRODUCTION
Business is an entity that refers to the process of producing and exchanging the products
and essential services required by the customers along with generating profit. IOM electronic
Ltd. is a manufacturing company deals with the production of the goods and providing essential
services to the end users. This business is engaged in the activity of selling goods and services of
the electronic merchandise in Manchester and Liverpool. This company is the leading
establishment with 200 workers working in the Liverpool and Manchester. This report will
explain about the functional areas and the necessary skills needed by the employees in an
organization for successfully grow.
MAIN BODY
1. Functional area:
Functional areas refers to the team of the workers with having same specialization and
skills. Functional area plays an vital role for establishment of any business .every planners of the
business should focus on better understanding and research of all those functional areas. The
structural area of any organization involves finance,promotions and advertisement,strategy
formulations, human resource, upgraded technologies,production and operations. Before starting
of any business there should be an specific plans and procedures to be follow. It's also helpful in
directing how the organisation will be managed. proper planning is very useful in the
examination and understanding of all the features of the business, so it is very crucial tool. IOM
electronic is the firm which supply the necessary electronic items in Manchester and Liverpool.
strategy:This is crucial for every business to formulate strategies for the better operations. Every
business must create their strategic visions and pre-planned missions so it will help in
understanding that what to do,why to do and how to do. strategies also helps in identifying the
opportunities and strength, and how to make better utilize of it. SWOT and PESTLE analysis are
conducting to find out the competition and rival firms for sustaining in the global competitive
world. strategic vision of the IOM is to prioritize and develop programmes, along with

Human resource department:For making better utilization of limited resources they must recruit
specialized skill workers. Manager should always understand how the workers attracts towards
the work and the organization. Motivate the employees by giving them proper feedback for their

work and provide them incentives along with extra other benefits(Turek and Henkens 2020).
IOM's HR department is very good. Managers are very soft and courteous ,and they lead the
team in very good manner. IOM have better HR managers who carrying out the process of
planning,organising,directing,recruiting (Jeleński and et.al., 2020).
Finance and budgeting:Establishment of any organizations needs money to invest in. while
generating the idea of business they should keep in mind that how financially they sound. They
should know how can they get funds and loans. Future is always uncertain so it will be very
difficult to take any decisions regarding to the finance. Before making any financial decisions
cash flow,fund flow,balance sheets and other financial statements should be studied. IOM is
engaged in the activity of producing invoice,and proper checking that the due payments are
received on time to time or not. It is the duty of the workers who involved in the department of
finance to check out the payment regarding to the bill is received or not.
Marketing:All the functional area of the organisation are depends on each other. Marketing
includes the activities of buying and selling of products and services along with creating profit.
the main aim of marketing is to identify and satisfying the desire of consumers by conducting
audience analysis. Better customer relationship management is maintain by taking proper
feedback from customers. The employees engaging in the field of promoting and advertising
must be fully trained for focus more on the customers and give them better quality of services. In
IOM Electronics Ltd. ,Marketing managers concentrate to update,design, and boost the websites.
they do better analysis of research and also have focus on effects and results. IOM's workers
concentrates more on what their customers actually requires.
Production and operations: This includes both technical and manufacturing process. Operations
are that which generate and distribute the goods and better services to the consumers. producing
of the goods in accordance with the wants and needs specified by the customers. IOM have very
good manufacturing process of the electronics items. It has better techniques which saves time
(Kasaev and et.al., 2019).
Techniques and better equipments: this not only includes tools and technologies but also
involves the techniques of better communication for selling and advertisement. Manager have to
make sure that manufacturing or marketing tools should not be time consuming. It works on
purchasing raw materials from the market at reasonable prices with better quality. This
department contains the experts, scientists, and the analyst of the industry, initiative leaders with

proper knowledge to do their best so that they always keep their head high. This department is
answerable for the stipulation of the tools with which the employees of the company engaged.
IOM's research department is headed by chief manager who is the in charge of maintaining
software and goods. It has upgraded and updated technologies.
2. Skills required by employees:
Every employees of an organisation should have the quality of skills and ability to work
with efficiently and cordinatively. This part plays an essential roles in an company to expand
more in the global competitive market (Villani and et.al., 2018).
marketing managers and employees: In IOM electronic ltd. Special skills needed by the
marketing employees are flexibility,adaptability,pre-planned strategies and vision,upgrading
techniques, analysis of data,market and audience analysis. Marketing and advertising employees
must also have the skills of innovation for efficiently working in an organisation. Statistical data
and survey should be analysed in order to taking decisions regarding to the better development of
the organisation (Turek and Henkens 2020).
consumer service employees: those employees who provides the better services to the customers
must have proper communication skills, empathetic behaviour skills, adapting changes according
to the time,capability to use best language, patience and better control for carrying out the given
target. The expectations and requirements of the customers are very high in nature so that the
employees must contact with those business which fulfil the needs and wants (Kristinsson and
et.al.,2019).
personnel management : Main work of the human resource management is to recruiting an
skilful employees in the organisation so that it will helpful in increasing the productivity.
Patience and adaptability must be needed by the managers for effectively work on the
organisation. The process of recruitment is very expensive and time consuming so that they must
have better ability to perform the same procedure in effective and efficient manner. It is the
obligation of the HR employees to carrying out the process of proper planning, organizing and
better controlling by proper interactions with the end users,employees and supplier of the
products (Nikookar and et.al., 2019).
finance department employees: It is very mandatory for the managers to check out that all
employees have the ability to solve problems along with proper idea of information technologies

using upgraded technologies as per the requirement of the organisation. They should have the
capacity to communicate better with another employees to perform work better related to
financial reports. Balance sheet, financial statements , cash flow, fund flow, profit and loss
accounts of the the competitive firm should be analysed to carry out for taking the decisions
related to finance. they should have accurate source of finding out capital expenditure of each
year and generating the legal report every year. there should also be made fruitful attempts for
the formulation of payroll and give salary to the staff on time.

answerable for the stipulation of the technical tools. Main work of this department is to carry out
inquiry about the needs and wants of the customers. Through the audience analysis they get
proper information regarding the desire of the end users of the products . They needed proper
communication skills, better thinking for the purpose of attracting themselves to the workplace.
With those skills it will be helpful for the growth of the company. smooth and efficient
operation of the organisation always depends on the expertise and specialized skills of the
employees (Arrascue Lino and et.al., 2021).
sales department employees: After better study, it is found In the IOM that the consumers want
best qualities of goods. This skills involves proper communication, better listening skills, and
collaborative ability. All those abilities are needed by the IOM's workers for the better and
productively growth of the organisation. There should also requirement of handling the
objections, better speaking skills with the public for carrying out the buying decisions. It is very
important to keep proper knowledge of feedback and unfavourable judgements given by the end
users of the company.
CONCLUSION
In the above report, it has been concluded that IOM Electronics Ltd can successfully
grow and expand when there will be proper co-operative work environment and better
coordinative employees at the workplace. On the contrary, personnel department's workers
should maintain proper investigation of the employees of different departments. The R&D
department team must be involve in the activity of finding innovation and use update techniques
to sustain in the competitive world.
