Technology: Uber Eats
Goal: Analyse the Feedback, Mapping, Consistency and Constrains of Uber Eats
Context of use: I am student, it was evening when I want to eat some food but I have very less amount
of money with me to go out and buy food from outside. Thus, I decided to order food from Uber Eats.
Considering the current scenario of it is quite visible that there are several utilization of
technology present in order to provide enhancement in our daily activities such as the utilization of
technology in the education field, in the work place, in the field of communication as well as in the
household matters. Thus it can be stated that the application of technology has captured our daily
activities in such way, that the usability has been increased by an exceptional level. According to several
studies it has been observed that technology is holding an impactful power in order to enhance our daily
activities. The utilization of technology in the business platform has improved the work effectiveness as
well as the efficiency of the business. Along with this the implementation of the advance technology in
the work process related to employment has provided less human interaction facility. Apart from the
usage of technology in the business field it has also hold an impactful position in the field to enhance the
communication process by improving the communication methods such as it has introduced the video
conferencing, email chat, text chat which has improved our daily life. Apart from the above field the
utilization of technology has improved the product purchasing methods as well as several services which
includes the online product buying facility, online food delivery methods.
As per the mentioned situation it was very difficult for me to go outside of my college and buy
food as the local food store is very far from my college I decided to order food online by Uber Eats. After
downloading the Application the first thing it has shown me a well-structured title page. After that is
moves to the login page. While moving to the next page the screen turns white and the text messages
were written in black and green coloured latters. In the login it has asked me to set my desired language,
after selecting the language the page the screen of the application turns white and in the middle of it a
black circle is moving, which is indicating that I have made a right selection and the page is loading for
the LogIn phase. This phase is termed as Visual Feedback, where the feedback has given me a positive
indication to move forward. Next, in the sign in phase, it requires the user id and password of the Uber
account. However, while I was trying to sign up, the page has moved to another white page where the
notification stated that ‘Invalid Selection’. This is also an example of Visual Feedback, as this is indicating
that I have, made a wrong selection. Thus, after downloading the Uber application I made an account
and utilizes the user id and password of Uber in the Uber Eats application. After providing the logging
detail in the login phase the next page has move to another white screen with the loading icon, which
indicated that I have chosen a right action and the page is loading to move to its next phase. This is also
considered as an example of visual feedback. After, the completion of loading the next page is showing
whether I want to select the location automatically or manually. I selected the automatic option and it
has provided me suggestion about my location. After selecting the location, the page next moved to a
page where, there was wide range of restaurant present in a list (2).

Then I have selected my preferable restaurant which was nearby me, then it show the list of
dishes available in that restaurant. After selecting the preferable dishes its moves to the payment page
by showing a notification stated that the selections are successfully added to the cart. This was a clear
example of visual feedback, which has indicated that I made a right selection. Later on, after paying the
money it has provided me a digital receipt and the page then moved to the order tracking page. This is
an example of mapping. Later on, after I got the delivery a page has popped on my mobile screen
indicating that ‘The order has been delivered successfully. Please provide the feedback about the
delivery’, this is also example of mapping and visual feedback. After the completion of downloading the
Uber Eats there is only a title page which has comes first while opening the application with no
instructions about the working process of the application. This is a simple case of internal inconsistency
as not showing any instruction might confuse the customer. Thus, I would like to add a navigation
button in the first page which will show the steps by which a customer can get an overview of how to
order the food from this application. Later, on the page where the language has been selected has a
‘continue’ button which indicates to complete the selection. This is a clear case of internal consistency
as by seeing the ‘continue’ button I have easily understand the function of this button. In the login page
it asked me to provide the login detail, whereas after the attempt to sign up, a message has popped up.
According to my view point it was an example of internal inconsistence as there was no indication about
that I must put the account detail of my uber account. Thus, in order to reduce this inconsistency I
would suggest the developer to incorporate the function of indented sign up facility which will help to
enhance their services. Along with these above aspect another function of Uber Eats has been
considered as the internal consistency, which is the easy location tracking feature of it, as it has very
effectively detected my location and delivered the food at its, right place. Along, with this the feature of
tracking the delivery boy has also provide me the facility to get an idea about where the food is right
now. Thus, it is considered as an internal consistency of the application Uber Eats. Apart from the above
aspects there are several constrains present in the uber etas application, which includes the availability
of the restaurant, fastest delivery process as well as a wide range of listed restaurant in it. Although,
there is several constrains in the service of Uber eats, I according to my experience with this services I
have noticed several inconsistency and limitations as well. Those limitations includes the login function
which does not have any sign up facility for the new users. Very limited range of payment methods thus,
it is very difficult to pay for the ordered food. Along with this I have experienced that it is not a user
friendly application as it has few steps where no direct instructions has given to continue the food
ordering process. Thus based on the overview of the gather experience from the service provided by
Uber Eats, as a customer I have several recommendation which will help to improve the food delivery
service of the mentioned application. Considering the aspect of visual feedback and mapping it can be
stated that the visual feedback of this application is quite impressive whereas, it must include the
