Academic misconduct is action to gain or attempt to gain
unethical and unfair academic advantage by the students of
university during assessments. Plagiarism is one of the highly
conducted academic misconduct that is the growing rapidly in
the students for submitting their assessments without doing
hard work. Plagiarism is an activity where students steals
someone else's ideas, work, data etc. without permission and
acknowledgement of that person. Therefore, it is important for
every university to have academic integrity among the
students to ensure the honesty and transparency in their work.
There is one more noticeable thing in college students is
addiction and craze of gaming. Therefore, the current report
utilizes the concept of game design to teach students the
strategies to avoid plagiarism and academic misconduct and to
feed them with the academic integrity. The game designed in
report is “Plagiarism Avoidance Bingo Game” which will
recognise the various activities regarding plagiarism,
academic misconduct and academic integrity performed by
student during performing the assessment.
Structure of Game

The game is attractive and colorful to attract the students.
The Plagiarism Avoidance Bingo is a fun game for the
students along with the educational learning to enhance
the academic integrity in students.
The game is beneficial in analyzing the activities of the
students regarding the plagiarism, academic misconduct
and academic integrity.
The game provides the feedback to students which help
them to improve their work and also to develop academic
integrity in their behavior and assessments.
The structure of game is simple yet attractive in look with
basic instructions to play.
The game also helps students in getting extra rewards for
their assessments.
Instructions for playing the game
The game “Plagiarism Avoidance Bingo” consist of some
instructions that student must consider while playing the game.
Plagiarism can also be claimed as the criminal act if
the owner of the data possesses the copyright or intellectual
property right on the idea and information. Therefore, it has
become very necessary to adopt the academic integrity factors
in the functioning of a university to make the students learn
about the values and ethics. Academic integrity is the concept
that delivers the values such as honesty, transparency, trust,
respect, fairness etc. in the work of the student. Academic
integrity will help the universities in reducing the academic
misconduct among the students.
It is examined that gaming is capturing the minds and the life of
the students of the university speedily and effectively. Students
or not just playing the game for the fun but they are also
adopting their features into their daily lives. From the recent
research it has been evaluated that among the college students
playing games has become the most essential habit of the day.
Therefore, to make the students learn to avoid plagiarism
and academic misconduct and established academic integrity
into their life support of game is used by designing the game.
The game is developed for students to develop strategies for
avoiding plagiarism and academic misconduct is named as
“Plagiarism Avoidance Bingo” (PAB).
The game is in the form of Bingo. There are three stages of
game one to avoid plagiarism, second to avoid academic
misconduct and third one to describe importance of Academic
misconduct. The game has a chart with different strategies
regarding the three stages in multiple boxes. The player has to
mark the boxes in two colors green and red green stands for the
activity is performed by the student and red stands for the
activities not performed by the student during assessment. In
the end the rewards are given to student according to the things
they have marked red and green. And a feedback is also
provided to improve the student’s misconducts and practice of
plagiarism.

Academic Misconduct is the serious topic which defines the
illegal actions performed by the students to gain the academic
advantage for oneself and thereby creating academic
disadvantage to other member. The academic misconduct
includes the various activities in the form of the behaviour of
a student’s such as cheating, Plagiarism, getting hold of the
access of someone else study materials,
helping the friend in unfair activities to gain academic
advantage, fabrications of academic documents, stealing of
examination papers, taking electronics devices during the
exams etc. Plagiarism is one of the academic misconduct
activities where the person copies or uses the ideas or the
words of another person without his acknowledgement or the
permission. Plagiarism is adopted by the students of the
university at very large scale.
