Gallup’s strengths finder test analysis
Leadership reflects upon an individual’s ability to lead a team. A leader is bestowed
upon with numerous responsibilities. A leader must be able to lead, guide, motivate and
inspire team members, evaluate their performances and ensure achievement of team goals.
Gallup’s test is a self-reflection tool that helps in identifying key strengths of an individual
(Saeed, 2014).
My first strength according to Gallup’s strength is of Self Assurance, and I absolutely agree
with the finding of the test. My self-assurance can be seen in terms of my confidence while I
take my decision and manage my life. This is one of my biggest strength as it not only
provides me with the capability to manage my own life, but it also gives me an impetus to
go out and help other people. This is helpful when it comes to applying the concepts of
leadership in business organization or in every walk of life.
Second strength which has been identified according to Gallup’s test is Responsibility, the
implication of responsibility here is that I take ownership of what I say, what I do and I am
committed, honest and loyal towards my goals, objectives and even the organization. Being
responsible helps me in becoming ethical as well, I always think about the consequences of
my decision on other stakeholders, which helps me in becoming a responsible and an
ethical leader.
I as a person have high degree of self-awareness, due to which I know that I want to be and
feel significant wherever I go or work. The same has been reflected in my Gallup test finder,
wherein Significance is one of my strength. The implication on my leadership style here is
that I always find myself working with people or within teams which are highly productive
and give me a lot to learn and also to contribute my learning’s. This strength gives a
weightage to my leadership style and makes me contribute effectively towards the goals of
my organization (Northouse, 2017).
The fourth strength of mine as identified is having a strategic focus towards things or the
events happening around me. I do have a strategic focus, this I have derived by being well

read, being aware of the business ecosystem and the changes happening around me. I am
also of the opinion that a leader must and should be flexible in his approach, which can be
driven only when the person has a strategic focus. Thus, strategic focus helps me in
spotting things before anyone could, thus helping me in standing out amidst the crowd
(Kouzes, 2014).
There are no two arguments over the rationale that without having a clear focus towards
things, life or goals, a person just remains aimless. I am glad that Gallup test reflected that
Focus is my strength. I always tend to make small goals, and accordingly milestones to
achieve the goals with a clear plan of action. It is this focus in achieving these smaller
milestones that I most of the time achieve the result I set for myself. Leadership is all about
achieving results for your people and the organization, I believe that staying focus helps my
leadership style (DuBois, 2015).
