Short description of the technology:
The aim of the report is to focus on the technology which is considered as the Internet
Of Things in this report. The Internet Of Things can be defined as the technology or the
system that relates the computing devices with the mechanical devices. The interrelation can
be defined as the relation and the connection between the software and computing devices,
digital machines, animals as well as humans which are customized with UIDs (Gubbi et al.,
2013). The UID is basically defined as the Unique Identifiers which creates the scope for the
technology to transfer the data by virtue of network systems with no interactions between the
human to human or computer to human.
There are various enterprises or sectors that are implementing the process of the IOT
for more convenient and easy operations that makes the process of decision making and
providing service to the consumer easy and genuine (Da Xu, He & Li, 2014). The Gambling
industry has also implemented the technology of the Internet Of Things in their working
structures so as to obtain higher level of business value.
Short description of the Industry:
The industry that has been selected for the assessment of the new technology
implementation is the gambling industry. The gambling industry consists of the Casinos,
betting, bingo halls, sport pools, amusement arcading machines in play-zones and lotteries.
The industry has faced a huge rise in gaining the popularity in the field of online gambling
and gaming format (Lee, Chung, & Bernhard, 2014).
The industry comprises of the betting industry mostly which is based on the on course
and the off course bookmakers. The particular kind of the industry is dominated by the
Ladbrokes, Corals, William Hill and Tote which comprises of more than 80% of the existing

betting shops. The Mecca Bingo and the Gala Bingo comprises over 43 % in the industry that
deals with the Bingo gambling (Porkodi & Bhuvaneswari, 2014). The most vulnerable
industry in the gambling industry comprises of the casino industry. It has been approximated
that there are 94600 workers employed in the gambling industry over more than 10000
gambling setups. The people that are employed in the gambling industry mainly work in the
posts of managers or work in the administrative departments. The implementation of the IOT
in this sector can decrease the rate of redundancy and will ease the way of operating the
sector even remotely through mobile gaming.

The research work done by many organizations have came up with the report which
has suggested that the activities in the working procedure of the organizations in the
gambling industry will be reduced from the human interactions to automated interactions and
working procedure by an approximation of 45% in the organizations (Liu et al., 2015). The
jobs and the duty structures that are not possible in the near future to change and get
automated are the only positions that are relying on the human workforce in this industry.
These working structures are the creativity, empathy, intuitiveness which are very often
observed and are considered in the working structure in any kind of the organization.
The people that will be mostly affected by the implementation of the IOT in such an
industry are the workers and the administrators in the organizations. The IOT creates a scope
for the management heads to keep the surveillance on the workers in such an organization
that solely deals and creates the business on money (Miller, 2014). The technology also
affects the people that are enjoying the service or the customers in such a gambling industry.
