Introduction:
Website is a medium of communication between in an organization and client. The
webpages of a site are connected to each other. Every site has a home page that serves as the
central location of the page. The interactive websites are connected to a database. This database
is installed within same or different server. The color combinations, font size, use of media, and
many more factors determine the quality of website design. UX and usability has huge impact on
the design of the website. The UX is the interaction designs. These designs provide an idea about
how the user will be accessing the website or navigation of the site.
In this study, the website with https://www.gameology.com.au/ as URL is reviewed. In
order to review the website and analyze the design properly, two participants has been selected
who will review the site. The reviews of each of the reviewers will be evaluated to obtain a
specific idea regarding the system.
Identification, overview and description of the site:
In Australia, GAMEOLOY is one of the largest gaming warehouses. Headquarter of the
organization is separated from the warehouse. The warehouse of the organization is located at
Melbourne. GAMEOLOY is well known for its offers. The organization sells the card games in
cheapest price in entire Australia. GAMEOLOY’s website is accessible from Australia, New
Zealand and other countries. GAMEOLOY’s headquarter is located at 12 Eileen Rd, Clayton
South 3169, Australia.

In order communicate within Australia, the customers can call the representatives.
Customers from other countries can communicate with representative of the organization
through email.
Features of Website:
The main features of the website are described in the following section.
i. Crucial Information: The site has used various information in every section of the
pages. All the significant information are easily visible and accessible. The
visitor’s eyes will easily catch the important information.

ii. Efficient Navigation: The navigation feature of the site is very efficient. The
visitors can buy the products as per the categories listed in the menu. The visitors
does not need to click more than three times to access the required information or
page.
iii. Responsive: The website is responsive to various screen sizes like mobile devices,
tablets and many more.
Positive and Negative aspect of the sites:

The following section discusses the positive aspects of the website.
i. Easily Readable Content: The contents like texts, images and other elements are
clearly visible in the website. The fonts and size of texts makes it easy to read the
contents.

ii. Interaction: The interaction between the user and the website is very good. The
users can hover their pointer over the menu and all the items will appear. All the
required links are available at proper position.
Negative Aspect of the Site:
The negative aspects of GAMEOLOY are as following.
i. Color Selection: The colors, used in the website, are very bright and does not
match with the background. The colors are very bright. The bright colors is bad
for a website.

ii. Descriptive link text: Usability testing shows that long link text makes it much
easier for visitors to find their way around a site. Long descriptive link texts has
not been used in proper amount in this website.
Review of nominated website:
Review from First Participant: The first participant is my childhood friend. He travels a
lot so he needs to access the website through his iPhone 8 Plus. He is 24 years old and works in a
multinational company as marketing intern. He liked the responsiveness of the website. The
navigation of the site in mobile view is very good.

Review from Second Participant: The second participant is my family member. She likes
to access the website through her laptop. She is a 35 years old woman. She works at local
restaurant as Manager. She often likes to serve through internet in the office breaks. She did not
like the color combination within the site. She has admitted that the navigation is a strong aspect
of website. She liked the offers that the organization provides.

Comparison of Views: Both the participants agreed that the navigation of the website is
swift and effective. Second participant agreed with the review in the study that colors are not
attractive. Visualizing the offers for the products is an attractive part of the website.
HCI design principles:
In order to make a well-designed website, it is crucial to follow the human computer
interaction design principles. The main HCI design principles that are followed here are as
following.
i. Requirement analysis: Website requirements are created based on the objectives
and goals of the organization. An organization develops a website with specific
goals. The design of the website should be able to fulfill the requirements of
organization accurately. It is crucial to identify the requirements of the user.
These requirements will be analyzed and a list of website features will be created.
These requirements will be cross-examined with the conventional design
principles. If the user requirements are feasible then the feature related to the

requirements will be included within the website. An important set of
requirements are gathered through evaluating the market and the opportunities
market provides. The website will be designed in such way that competitive
advantage can be achieved. Good design will result in fulfilling the identified
requirements effectively. This will provide the organization a boost in capturing
the market.
ii. Conceptual Proposal and Prototyping: The conceptual proposal of the website
will provide an idea to the users and owner regarding the website design and
website interaction. The website user interaction models will be created using a
specific mockup model generator. The end users will use this mockup and provide
their reviews to a person. This person makes changes in the model based on the
reviews of the user. After the interaction model is confirmed, the designers will
create the UI or user interface of the website. These interfaces will also be
verified by the users and other participants. The conceptual modeling is a highly
recommended process of website designing.
iii. Relevancy: Relevancy is an integral part of a well-designed website. This HCI
design principle determines how good the usability of the website is. Being clear
about the aim and objectives is not everything for designing a website. The
content of the website has to be relevant to the website entities and functions.
Having a good understanding of the website user is vital to identify what contents
are relevant. The designer must know why a user will be accessing the website. In
order to include relevancy in the website, the first step will be identifying the
users. Then the users will be interviewed. The responsible person will gather all

the required data to generate an idea about what can relevant content. Every
design related decision should be taken to increase the user friendliness of the site.
iv. Credibility: Having credibility in the contents is a vital part of a website. It will
not matter how clear or relevant the content is if the user does not trust the data a
website contains. The whole design becomes useless in such cases. The users may
find it difficult to believe that the organization exists or not. Even if they believe
that the organization exists, they may not be sure about purchasing the product or
service from the website. Of course the content also plays an important role for
the perceived trustworthiness of your site. It is vital to make sure organization is
honest and precise about its content. Organization must avoid mistakes, such as
incorrect grammar or misspellings. GAMELOGY should be modest about its
expertise. GAMELOGY should make sure that people know it is the expert in its
business domain.
Recommendations:
Simplicity: The visual and interaction of the website is a vital part of the website. Most of
the users access the website for buying products or services, not appreciating the slick design.
The users will be very happy if they can find the required information on the page. The website
should not have irrelevant design entities. All the design elements should have some functional
meaning. The simplicity is the best option for improving the usability and user interaction of the
website.
Credibility: The usage of conventional design strategies, design elements and principles
that are already familiar to the visitors. This can organization to have more credibility within the
website. The website should be able to provide the best user experience so that credibility can be

achieved. The organization should be clear about the products that are selling through the
website. Having a pricing page can be a great technique to improve the credibility of the site.
The listing of the price on the website should be clear. Thus the organization website can be
more trustworthy.
Conclusion:
From the above discussions and analysis, it can be clearly stated that the website’s
navigation is a crucial design aspect of the website. The website can be accessed from various
countries of this world. The website visualizes the design elements perfectly and this provides
the organization completive advantage. The contents have been used properly within the site.
The font size and style are conventional. Therefore, the visitors does not feel they are seeing
something new. The offers are visualized in an attractive manner. Thus the visitors always
catches the exciting offers that the website offers. Every user almost will forget about the style of
the website and the main part will be interaction. The interaction between the user and the
website serves as the main aspect of the site which is considered to be the most crucial feature of
site while user is shopping.
