People have started raising their children gender neutral these days as being gender

who get freedom of these choices in their early life are more likely to have self-confidence as
well become leaders as compared to other kids. Gender refers to the gender identity such as men
and women as defined by people themselves. Sexuality refers to who an individual is attracted to
as well as the plethora of orientations (Fleischhacker, 2019). Gender are the features of women,
girls, boys and men which are socially constructed. It can also involve the social norms, roles
and behaviors which are associated with being a men, boy, girl or women. Sexuality is all about
the sexual feelings, attractions, behaviors and thoughts which they have towards other people.
The things such as emotionally attractiveness, sexual attractiveness and physical attractiveness
all are a part of a person’s sexuality.
Gender and sexuality have changed a lot from the past. In earlier days, the gender and
sexuality were associated with certain gender and sexuality as well. People were tagged with the

gender was favored more than others. Men were considered to be bread makers and women only

example the intersection of sexuality with major social issues involves women’ and children’s
health. It also involve gender based violence. The everyday experiences of gender and sexuality
involves facing discrimination at workplace as the women are paid less than men. Women are
given less opportunities to be at higher potions as only men are considered to be able to pull
theses jobs only.
Gender and sexuality are the important parts of a human life. However, on everyday
basis, people have to face various human experiences for their sexuality. It is a complex

involving social, cultural and economic as well as religious contexts. These contexts are things
which limits or prohibits of an individual’s life. The sexuality of a person influences their
cultures, religions and politics etc. a culture’s treatment of sexuality can influence the
individual’s feeling such as safe and unsafe. For example, some cultures strictly prohibits the
homosexuality and implies homophobic.
Sexuality affects the women’s ability to protect herself against diseases, unwanted
pregnancy and violence as well as childbirth etc. Sexuality and gender have been an arena for
contesting power relations and social status. This results in discrimination, violence and abuse on
a gender based on their sexual orientation and their gender (Crawford and Unger, 2019). The
intersection of sexuality with major issues involves a number of social issues such as youth
development, population growth, gender based violence and human rights. For example women

abused as it is assumed that they are weaker than the other gender and thus lacks power.
