INTRODUCTION
Gender Trouble: Feminism and the Subversion of Identity is a book by the philosopher
Judith Butler, in which the author argues that gender is a kind of improvised performance. The
work by author is been influenced by feminism, women studies, lesbian and gay studies. The
idea was been taken on the basis of queer theory and the advancing of dissident sexual practices
during the 1990’s. Butler has also provided with the gender theory. It gives details about that
gender is essentially a performance related to repetitive actions which is been done by both
males and females. The author has argued upon the human nature of objectifying other gender.

Feminism in an identity has been used by author to have deep understanding and insights
about the different role of gender and their identities. The author has explained about how men
and women can be different and have separate thinking and perceptions. The author has argued
upon that every gender has unique personality and no other human being has right to objectify it.
They must be involved in giving respect to thoughts and values related to other persons. The
author has also explained that if something wrong happens with women or woman, the other
women must be engaged in supporting them through odds and evens (Morgenroth and Ryan,
2018). The author has also provided the information and argued that if women are wrong and is
doing all the unwanted activities for gaining fame than no support needs to be given. This is the
concept of feminist identity. I have realised that Everyone of should be engaged in changing their
own mind and perceptions. Butler has also criticised the central attraction related to feminist

women must be stopped and they also must be considered equal in the society which is male
dominant, equal place must be provided to women.

identifying the gender identity (Swanson, 2018). They also need to be making sure that
perception of men and women are been separated and different from each other. Women must
not be taken for granted and all equal rights needs to be provided to them. This will help women

be followed and even matriarchy needs to be considered. Women can also perform all tasks as

Feminism is manifested worldwide and is represented by various institutions committed to
activity on behalf of women's rights and interests. The author has argued that women right needs
to be protected and they should not be seen as the matter of objects. There are so many rights
which women were not been able to explore. It has been analysed that women were not been
allowed to have their own business, married women were not been given permission to work. All
these biasness was been done to women back in that time. Author argued that all these were
down shading fame of women. I have realised that These activities need to be abandoned so that
all gender can be treated equally. Women needs to act as a rebel when they are been stuck in this
type of situation. This will enhance the living conditions of women and political views related to
rights of women. This will help them in also providing equal rights to women in lieu of feminism
(Poster, 2018). The author has criticized this because there so many people in the world who are
not involved in providing equal rights to women. The author has been involved in fighting for
the rights of women and providing them with equal space as men.
Author has provided details related to queer theory and also Butler has criticized the
feminist theory. She believes that toxic masculinaity is for real and needs to be stopped as soon

as possible. Women must be given with equal rights and respect. Their views and perceptions all
needs to be taken into consideration and they must not be taken for granted. This will help in
giving women a place in male dominant society. Women and men are just engaged in performing

women. The use of whole language against women must not be used. This will assist in setting
an environment related to equality for the women. It has also been analyzed that whole language
must not be used against women, if they do not agree to work certain task than the women
should not be forced to do it (Jenkins and Finneman, 2018). They must also not be taken for
granted and also they must not be objectifying based on their appearance or body. Butler is
trying to set a peace for women through her work in this novel. They are been taken for granted
and considered as weak on the basis of sex. The author has also argued that body is been drawn
on certain Taboos. It has also been analyzed that for a better world women thoughts and value
must be taken in consideration. This will assist in setting better place for them to be in. It will
also help in providing respect to what women think and desire.
