The statement that shows “geography is destiny” can be termed as one of the oldest
theories of geopolitics. This is not just directed to a deterministic idea, but also highlights the fact
that there are particular geographic locations that benefits from the traits of strategy, politics and
economy. Such countries also get the advantage of being coveted by other nations. The limitation
of the economic development of a nation is serves as the actual limitation of any nation. To
provide a better understanding, the development of a particular nation is thwarted if its natural
resources are actually damaged. For international organizations, they plan to exploit the natural
resources or raw materials of a given nation if it means growth1. The economy gives a better
understanding towards the geographical location of a nation. This can also be a benefit along
with a severe cost from the populace when this is considered a financial arrangement by the
state. This financial lucrative offer gives a better understanding of the economic condition
present in a nation. The nearby nations of channels are also affected political consequences. The
nations are the more politically stable can improve in terms of economy than others. When these
factors come into place, a developed nation can preoccupy itself with concerns related to the
study of people with the physical environment where they settle along with the socio-economic
development in the geographical pattern of a nation. It can be said that geography forms the
essentials that defines a nation.
From a geographical standpoint, the topography, currents, tides, wind patterns of a river
is a determining factors related to transport of goods2. In the Industrial revolution, there were
many countries that landlocked by superior countries because of their resources. Technology
helps the temperate agriculture and industry to progress rather than the land itself. By improving
