Describe possible reactionsRebekahmight experience to a diagnosis of GDM While getting through diagnosis of GDM, Rebekah Smith might get surprised and worried for this situation due to having a concern about baby and its health. Other than this she may get a feeling of failure that she might made some mistake which in turn created this issue and increases the risk of caesarean, as other two were uncomplicated and normal delivery (Johns and et. al., 2018). She might also have a thought of giving birth to a premature baby if this Gestational Diabetes may create the issue of vascular complication with pregestational diabetes (Johns and et. al., 2018). Asin this situation baby is being delivered prior to actual time provided for it, so she may have a fear of delivering an unhealthy baby that might have other risk to life and health(Wazqar and Evans, 2012). Other than that she may also plan to improve her diet habits and switch to more healthier food and can also have a thought of starting the exercise that may help her in reducing the health issue and giving birth to a healthy child. What might be some concerns she may have as a consequence of this diagnosis While having this diagnosis about the Gestational Diabetes, Rebekah Smith may have may thing goes on her mind and a huge number of concerns related with the pregnancy complications, her health, health of baby, issues that may arise at the time of delivery and after birth health conditionof baby. These all are the concerns that she may strike in her mind as a consequence of this diagnosis (Buchanan, Xiang and Page, 2012). Otherthan this she may also get concern about the risk factor involve within this gestational diabetes which mainly includes overweight, obesity, difficulty in performing physical activity, polycystic ovary syndrome etc. These may increase the risk of health to her as well as her baby. These are some of the concern that Rebekah smith have due to diagnosis as Gestational Diabetes that make changes within the hormonal level during pregnancy which make it harder for the body to process blood sugar efficiently and creates several complications (Wazqar and Evans, 2012). For recovering the issues of diabetes self-management for health condition is very significant for a patients havingGestational Diabetes as ignorance of it may cause several other health issues to mother and baby as well. So, for personal management a healthy diet can be followed by Rebekah Smith by including those food in diet which are sugar free and help in 3
managing the sugar level within blood (Shepherd, E and et. al., 2017). Other than this physical activities like exercise, walk etc. will also remain helpful and consider a better health care practice that can be adopted to managediabetes (Young-Hyman and et. al., (2016). Despiteof this, in case of psychological practices a patient centred approach will be helpful where Rebekah Smith can have a communication and interaction with doctors in order to provide them a regular information about the health issues she might be facing which provide a regular recommendation over this and hence help in better management of health. 4
