INTRODUCTION
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease which says about that immune
system of a person is not working in an appropriate way. This disorders has various symptoms
and signs such as fever, loss of range of motion, swollen joints, joint pains (feet, hand or knees)
and many more. This disease affects other body parts too which is very dangerous for a person to
bear these pain and survive more. As a result, it will be found that many problems will be seen
further in human body at the time of suffering from Rheumatoid arthritis disease such as swollen
around heart, low level red blood cell found and swollen around lungs. Along with this, approx
1.5 million people are suffering from the this disease. Furthermore, especially women are
affected earlier from Rheumatoid Arthritis disease as comparison to men. In women, the
beginning stage of this disease is between 30 to 60 years (Singh and et. al., 2016). On the other
hand, in mens life this disease occurs later. For example, there is a women who has overweight
and because of this more pressure on cartilage affects their bones and start get squeezed. So, it is
difficult for her to bear this pain as this is damage her body part. In this present report, Gibbs
reflective cycle is going to be covered as it provide proper framework by which people can learn
from the experiences. This was founded by Graham Gibbs in the year 1988 which makes proper
cycle and covers 6 stages as for providing a proper solution of their problem by learning from
own experiences.
Gibbs reflective model
This reflective model was founded by Graham Gibbs in the year 1988. He was provided
proper structure or theory of reflective learning by which it is easy for person to get learn
something from their own experiences. This will be perpetually upgraded by the process of
recording and thinking which comes from experiences (Brown, 2016). The motive of Gibbs
reflective model is that we can learn about ourselves from the experiences we have. As per the
above mentioned example helps me to analyse the problem to to enhance my knowledge from
my own experience. Along with this, Gibbs reflective model covers six stages which are
described as below:-
 Description:- In this model of learning description means what happened. As per the
above explained example I analysed that Rheumatoid Arthritis disease is very dangerous

for a person and this will affect very badly on their body parts. From my analysis I found
that there is a women, house maker whose age is 35 and she is suffering from RA disease
because of her overweight. This is directly affects on their bones as it is not easy for her
to stand more because whole pressure is come on the bones through which she bear a lot
of pain.
 Feelings:- After the whole analysis, I personally feel that this disease is very bad as it
affect in both mental and physical condition of a human being. Along with this, I think
every women have to do exercise for her fitness so they will not suffer any kind of
disease which arises from overweight (Redmond, 2017). After the incident I research on
this disease and found one of the the most effective treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis
(RA) i.e., Methotrexate as this will also helps in other diseases which occurs from
swollen and joint pain. It is a treatment that is used for reducing further joint pain or
damages and maintain or preserve joint area effectively.
 Evaluation:- As per my own experience I found two aspects from these disease i.e.,
good and bad. I realised that her bad experience is she will not enjoy her life by her own
way as she has suffering from pain which is not easy for her to enjoy the life accordingly.
On the other hand, in good experiences includes that her family members or friends will
motivate or gives support to deal with the situation and makes smile on her face.
 Analysis:- In this stage, she have to live her life by own way and opt all those treatment
by which she will get more relief from pain or damages. Exercise and treatment both tool
helps a person to solve this kind of problem. Furthermore, this women also adopt
Methotrexate treatment and do exercise at home by which she loose weight and bear low
pain. Along with this, it will help her to choose best one from treatment and exercise as
this provide proper guidance and instruction to deal with the disease.
 Conclusion:- In this stage of reflection learning, says about that what else could you
have done means to evaluate all the details of above stages in an effective manner. As per
my own experience, I analysed that both treatment and exercise plays their own role
(Smolen and et. al., 2016). Simultaneously, it will help me to learn from my experiences
in order to enhance my own knowledge effectively. This detail study of Rheumatoid
Arthritis disease helps me to identify the strength and weakness and provide me efficient
knowledge to aids this women or someone else in future. Lastly, I learned that, it is

necessary for everyone either men or women to do body check up once in a year as this
aid people to identify the problems and solution of it accordingly.
 Action Plan:- At this last step of Gibbs reflective model provide me proper framework
by which I make a plan for solving a present or related problem. Along with this, action
plan helps me to think differently and learn from experiences. In this situation, I found
that best method for dealing with these disease is to opt Methotrexate treatment for better
survival and good health for her (Smolen and et. al., 2017). As per the above mentioned
problem, helps me to analyse the problems and get effective solution of it. So it aids me
to enhance knowledge or learn from experience.
CONCLUSION
As per the above mentioned report, it has been evaluated that, Methotrexate treatment is
one of the best treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis disease as it helps people to get effective
treatment and deal with it effectively. In this report,Gibbs reflective model is also examined
which says about person can learn easily from their experiences.
