INTRODUCTION
Continuing professional development refers to an ongoing process of maintaining,
documenting and developing the professional skills. These are the skills that can be gained
through courses and training formally or informally (Gratton and Gratton, 2020). The purpose of
this development process is to ensure that an individual enhances their abilities and skills once
formally qualifies. In other words it refers to the procedure of tracing the knowledge and skills
that an individual gained from their experiences. This report shows the reflective model of Gibbs
that is applied to the my learning experience of the module. The report shows the evaluation and
analysis of my experience.
Gibbs Reflective Cycle
It is famous cyclical model of reflection that has six stages that are used to describe an particular
experience such as description, feeling, evaluation, analysis and conclusion (Hawley and
Tuckett, 2020). In order to reflect things that I have learned from module, Gibbs reflective cycle
has been used for better understanding what has been learned during the course. Such as:
Description: It is description related to things, skilled, knowledge that I have learned
during attending class in order to get better employment opportunities and higher growth
and success in future scenario (Hussein, 2018). It describes the things that are taught by
our lecturer so that we can get higher grades ad good employment opportunities in near
future. Such as the module has helped me in learning numerous skills that are contribute
in achievement of employability and study skills (Adeani, Febriani and Syafryadin,
2020). Likewise, it helps in improving my communication skills- both verbal and written
which is essential for all individuals. As student must have good communication skills in
order to share their perspective, idea and point of view with other students. During the
class and through module, we have also learned about the manner in which research
related to particular topic need to be done in order to extract more and more crucial
information. Furthermore, it has also helped in learning team working and time
management skills that are very important for individuals to get job. As in recent
scenario, employer wants to recruit employees that have multiple skills, ability to work in
team and mange time so that no delay in delivering services to customers. Therefore,
overall the module and class has helped me in improving my skills, knowledge for bright
future ahead in both personal and professional career.

Feeling and though related to the previous experience: It is second stage of Gibbs
model that helps in understanding the feeling and though I have while attending the class
and learning the module (Ardian, Hariyat and Afifah, 2019) . In initial stage, I feel
difficult to understand the concept and was not able to learn some of the skills such as
problem solving and research that make me somewhat irritated and frustrated. But as
soon I tried to learn things more patiently by listening and noting down whatever has
been said by the lecturer has helped me in improving my skills to maximum level
(Sambell and et.al., 2020). I get to know about the way in which solution of problem can
be find and implemented to make people happy and satisfied. So, overall the experience
was good as I learned number of skilled knowledge related to information
communication technology which would be useful for me in future scenario. Moreover,
there are certain skills that are already present in me so when the lecturer has taught about
the same i was interested to learn them more in order to excel them (Wain, 2017). Such
as I have good communication skills and team working that helps me knowing why they
are important, what are the method that could be used to improve them for getting better
outcome.
Evaluation: The third stage in the Gibbs reflective cycle if the evaluation. It is a stages
where one evaluates the whole situation that is what went well and what didn’t worked. It
evaluates both the positive and the negative aspect of the whole experience (Markkanen
and et.al., 2020). From. My experience of participating in the module, it can be evaluated
that it helped me built and enhance my various skill so that i can develop my personality
not only in professional life but also in my personal life. It helped me in enhancing my
skills such as communication and verbal skills that helped me in becoming more
confident. And allowing me to put my opinions in front of everyone without any
hesitation. Also, it in the learning module there were group discussion and participation
that helped me in building how to work in teams and shows team spirit and coordinate
with team member so that as a team we can achieve the goals. However, it can be
evaluated that everything went well in my learning module and thus, helped me
development and enhancement if my various skills.
Analysis- The fourth step in the process of the reflection model of the Gibbs cycle is the
analysis of the experience (Sekarwinahyu and et.al., 2019) . That is it is step where one

analysis the whole experience focusing on every little detail around what happened in the
experience. And from that extract the meaning and important things that helps in
analyzing the experience. From my analysis it can be evaluated that in my learning
module, i suppose everything went well because of the efforts that were put up by the
lecturers in presenting the module so that everyone understands and learns from it were
excellent. On the other hand, it can be analysed the learning experience helped me in
various aspects of my life. It helped me in not only improving the skills that i already
possessed but also it helped me development of new skills that were necessary for
professional career that is development of technical skills. Thus, it can be analysed that
overall my experience of participating in the module was very effective and useful for me
because it helped me becoming a better person.
Conclusion: In the Gibbs model of reflection this is the fifth stage that is concluding and
summarising the whole experience and highlighting the changes that one need to improve
and inculcate in the future (Tawanwongsri and Phenwan, 2019). . Therefore, from my
experience of the learning module, it can be concluded that oit was one of the most useful
and effective module that helped in several ways. It had a positive impact on my learning
outcome and resulted in building up my morale and confidence which will be very
effective for me when i will be entering t choose my career path. Thus, this module
turned out to be a great learning experience for me that helped me in development of
several skills and helped me in enhancing my creativity and critical thinking. However,
there are several things that i need to improve for my betterment and future.
Action plan- The last step in the process of the reflection model of Gibbs is the action
plan (Dhaliwal and Singh 2018). It is where one develops a action plan for improving and
enhancing the things that one lacks at or need to enhance it for future betterment. It is one
of the most important stage because it helps in providing a path so that an individual can
formulate a plan and implement it so that he can improve his learning from the
experience (Pieper and et.al., 2019). Thus, from the my learning module, it can be
concluded that there are certain skills that i still need to develop or improve for my
betterment. That is to improve my communication nd verbal skills i need to participate in
debate competitions so that it will help me in building my confident to speak in public
and present my viewpoints. Also, i need to improve my writing skill therefore, i need t

participate im essay competitions so that it will help me in enhancing my writing skills
and will help me in improving my vocabulary. Thus, with formulation of effective action
plan it will help me in enhancing and improving my skills effectively and efficiently.
CONCLUSION
From the above it can be concluded that Gibbs cycle of reflection is a model that is used
for reflecting one’s experience and allowing them to plan and learn from the things that went
well or did not go well. It can be summarised that with the use of Gibbs model of reflection it
helped me in analysing and evaluating my experience. It also helped me in reaching out to
conclusion that what skills i have as my strengths and what i need to develop. Thus, helped me in
formulation of action plan that will help me improving and enhancing the learning from my
experience.
