Executive Summary
The aim of the report is to find the sustainable development goals of Gillette and also to
analyse the main findings that has been drawn from the project. The basis of the report is the
sustainable development goals that has been set by the company for the better management of
sustainability and also to make sure that the sustainability development is to be assessed by
the researchers. The purpose of the report is to find the goals of the company in association to
the background of the company and the objectives of the study. The SDG compass has been
assessed and also the problems in the sustainable goals has been made. The different types of
sustainability analysis has been done especially the environmental and the social
sustainability plan which is one of the basis of the Gillette for the ecological balance and the
social equality of the consumers. The findings of the analysis is being adhered to make sure
the sustainability factors of the Gillette with the focus on the solutions to the relevant fields.
The three sustainable development goals are addressed to the company and also focussed on
the company. The primary findings of the company relate to the fact that the company is

1. Introduction
1.1 Brief Introduction to the company
One of the most well-known personal care brand for both men and women is Gillette
which is one of the subsidiary concerns of Procter & Gamble. Accoring to Mygillette.com
(2018) the company is based in Boston, USA and has a global presence with the tagline The
Best a Man Can Get.
1.1 Background of the study
Sustainable development is defined as the principle of a particular organization that
focusses on the needs of the enterprise without compromising the need of the future
generations in terms of the physical or environmental resources (Le Blanc 2015). Every
company needs to follow the basic sustainability rules to make sure that their workings do not
hamper the physical and ecological balance.
1.2 Relevance and Importance
The following report addresses the sustainability goals of Gillette in association with
the challenges, factors and the sustainability development goals of the company which is
relevant and important in the analysis.

2.1 The major SDG challenges of Gillette
According to the opinions of Christen and Schmidt (2012) Gillette is one of the major
FMGC companies that promises to keep sustainable development goals in the arena in their
modes of production. They make sure to include sustainability development goals in their
production and research, however, due to certain challenges face a number of problems in the
said matter. The major challenges of Gillette in the SDG matter are as follows –
Climate change– One of the major sustainability challenges faced by Gillette is the
climate change that is faced by the global situation. Gillette should majorly focus on
the change in environment to make sure that the company do not harm the ecology.
Respect of Rights – Another major challenge that has been faced by the organization
is the respect of the rights of the aboriginal people and also the people who are

challenge that has been faced by the company in terms of the sustainability issue of

The current sustainability focus of Gillette as a brand is to focus on both long terms
and short terms goals of the company to create more sustainable and society friendly

of the company does not hamper the human and ecological resources of the society and
hamper the ecological balance (Sachs 2012). The company along with its mother concern

2.1.2 Factors driving Gillette to effectively manage sustainability
One of the major factors that has driven Gillette to effectively manage sustainability is
the maintenance of corporate ethics and social responsibility of the organization. The
corporate ethics are defined as the concept which is applied in the form of business ethics
arising in a business environment with the norms and values implemented to guide business.
The social responsibility is defined as the responsible behaviours that is to be implemented by
the organization for the basic environmental facilities (Hák, Janoušková and Moldan 2016).
The performance of the organization in terms of the sustainable behaviour is to be maintained
keeping the regulatory behaviour of the task applicable. The company should make sure to
have the environmental facts notified in the case and also to have the detailed analysis of the
stakeholder in terms of the sustainability ratio.
Another factor that drives Gillette towards effective management of sustainability is

viable changes in the fact. The company should make innovative and viable changes to make
sure that each of the strategies that has been implemented in Gillette has been made to serve
the changes of the brand in association with the sustainability development goals and ratio in
the prolonged time (Crane and Matten 2016). The three basic sustainability goals of the
organization is to make sure that the company addresses all the basic environmental and
social sustainability issues with innovation and ease in the matters.
