leader and the leader needs to fix it in the possible fastest way. While solving the problem the
leader recognizes the problem of the organizations that lets the leader make necessary changes.
The changes even further let the changes avoid wasting time on the same source of issue. Lean is
about making the most of time and eliminate waste through continuous improvement. Also, the
most valuable resource of a lean leader has is the availability of understanding the source of
waste (Hasle 2014). One of the crucial and toughest part is to identify the causes that creates
wastage of time and productivity. Lean leadership is more of moving toward the goal with the
people of your team along with people for whom the leader works.
The commitment to employees in lean leadership to its highest form is to be towards the

working it are the greatest assets of the company. The leader needs to listen to the company’s
people and make them feel that their voices are heard. Also, the skills and knowledge of the
people working in the company should be known by the leader in order to understand the
appropriate person or team for a specific task. Ensuring that their people have the right tools,
access and knowledge to perform their jobs correctly is the responsibility that a person would be
having as a lean leader (Ulrich and Dulebohn 2015). The entire concept of lean leader is to have
more works done in less time in order to utilize the saved time to work for the targeted goals.
Therefore, the commitment towards the employees is an absolute essential. The opinion of the

prove not feasible. When any unfeasible conditions approaches, the situation needs to be
addressed by raising questions or answering so it give out the reasons for considering the

may be reached which is an added advantage.
Commitment to the system is one of the vital area to focus on when lean leadership is
discussed. As a lean leader it is essential to give commitment to the environment or the system.
Most of the people are resistant to change by their natural characteristic. They are faced with
difficulty when they other elements replace the present elements or there are implementation of
advance methods replacing the traditional (Al-Balushi et al. 2014). Therefore, the leader needs to
convince the people regarding the implementation of the changes. High level of resistance can
cause difficulty in the ways of the ways of the leader that the leader needs to turn in favor. The
people in the company needs to be convinced regarding the changes to the system.
Lastly it is the commitment to improvement. It is not only the commitment to
improvement but also to have continuous improvement in the organization (Boer et al. 2017).

through a painstaking process looking at a business from every aspect. The principles of lean will
ensure that every nonessential is eliminated that will create long-term profits for the company.
Lean operation can be defined as a means of running an organization by focusing mostly
on the customer satisfaction with minimum or very resources. There are two objective of lean
operation, to create value for customer and two eliminate waste. Efficiency is the most
significant concern the companies that use lean operation. Any aspect in a business’s operation
do not meet the ultimate end of meeting the target, providing customers value, increasing profit
is eliminated from the organization. Therefore, applying lean operation in company will cut
down the inefficient practices, rules and regulation (Doganis 2013).
Certainly, there are several areas of waste that every company should consider reviewing
while deciding on lean operation. The areas of consideration that business may have the scope of
development and improve their operations while cutting down inefficiencies are as follow:
Jobs: The salaries and benefits are not of less cost. It is a big expenditure for organizations
and there is a logical reason for not eliminating necessary positions. It is not a wise decision
if an organization removes the positions that are necessary in order to cut down extra charges
or squeeze in extra positions in order to improve the productivity. However, the important
factor is to ensure that all employees in an organization have important role to play. When
every member of the organization serve an essential purpose, it is the most efficient. Also, it
would be a waste of company’s wealth to have inefficient positions who are not of major use

managing inventory. It is essential to understand that there is enough stock to meet customer
demand also at the same time not excessive amount to be laid ideal.
Production time: inefficiency and waste works hand in hand. Therefore, lean operation
requires to eliminate any inefficiency that may lead to delays or reduction in the production
process. Lean operation is a way to produce all products produced in less time costing less

Transportation: one of the major area of wastage in business is transportation. In any ways
company is unnecessary transportation may cause unnecessary wastage of money. Making
unrequired transportation or making transportation at wrong time makes can cause problem
