INTRODUCTION
Global events are considered as events of a limited duration which have a global
reach, need significant public investment and create an impact on the population and
built environment. The hosting of global events such as World Cups, Olympics and
cultural festivals has seen as opportunities to stimulate growth and development. Hosts
are increasingly seek to make sure that event act as catalysts for local development are
utilised to leverage long term infrastructure investment, enhance tourists and trade,
create employment and promote community development. Rugby World Cup 1995 is
taken as base event. Rugby World Cup 1995 South Africa is a mega event which was
hosted by South Africa and won by South Africa. It is a men's rugby union tournament
which is conducted at every four year between the top international teams. In this
report, it covers the diversity of the global events sector and the factors that have
influenced its development. Along with this, it also include then value, legacy and the
impact of the events on the environment in which they operate to support responsible
event development.

The different types of events that showcases diversity of global event sector are
mentioned below:
Hallmark events: These are the events that comprises of cultural and sporting
events, expositions, fairs and many more and they are conducted on either regular or
one-off basis. The key function of such events is to offer the host community with a
chance to secure high prominence in the market place. One such hallmark event is The
Chelsea Flower Show which involves the avant garde show gardens, designed by
leading names with Floral Marquee at the centrepiece (Slemon, Jenkins, and Bungay,
2017).
Structure: Almost all hallmark events are under the category of non-profit
industry and they collaborate a phase of public authoritativeness as there is requirement
of community to felt the possession of traditional. Along with this, hallmark events follow
flat structure. The Chelsea Flower Show is held for five days by Royal Horticulture
Society.

How the event is organised: The Chelsea Flower Show is conducted in the
month of may for five days by the Royal Horticulture Society and it was first held on
1912.
Place of event in society: Hallmark events are vital for society as they
assists in raising tourism in certain area. The Chelsea Flower Show features small
gardens such as Urban Gardens and Artisan.
Major events: Major events are the events that has the ability to grab attention of
visitors. Along with this, these events also attract large amount of media coverage and
has an extraordinary volume of economic benefits. One such example of Major event is
TT race which is an annual motorcycle racing event run on the Isle of Man (Gilligan,
and Ridley-Duff, 2018).
Structure: Major events are considered as complicated as they are
conducted on large scale. TT race is considered as one of the mots dangerous racing
events in the world.
How the event is organised: It is a type of event which is held at large
scale and they have maximum return on investment by the stakeholders in large scale
to have maximum return of investment by stakeholders. TT races is an event which is
run in May/June since its inaugural race in 1907.
Place of event in society: Major events considered as rich for community
as they collaborate with public on huge scale for yearly gathering.
Mega events: These type of events are large which has the ability to create
affect entire nations and they also get media coverage on huge scale. Rugby World Cup
1995 is one such example of mega event.
Structure: These types of events includes large amount of investment and
it is conducted on large scale. Along with this, they are able to attract large amount of
visitors. Rugby World Cup is conducted at every four years among top international
teams.
How the event is organised: Rugby World Cup is men's rugby union
tournament and this tournament was first held in 1987. This tournament includes 20
countries competing over six weeks.
