GEC Background
 Johannes Linden - director of Fluss washer and dryer
division.
 Created Global Executive Committee.
 Members of GEC- 4 corporate officers and six regional
directors.
 Linden Intentions as its leader – develop and
strengthening collaborative, open, aggressive
culture(Hill & Rennella, 2012).
 GEC members:
 - cross cultural yet comfortable;
 - given different roles of their expertise;
 - healthy competition between them

Linden’s Leadership
 Linden was the leader of GEC committee and his
leadership was very persuasive, likable, and
determined (Hill & Rennella, 2012).
 He was given credit of being a good leader of GEC
committee because:
 In initial two years of GEC operation, members of
GEC team are from cross cultures, yet they were
comfortable with each other.
 Team members adopted various roles as per their
expertise.
 Members had healthy competition between them.

Purpose of GEC
 To provide platform for making major and
strategic decisions of investments.
 Focus on important initiatives and
operational matters.
 To discuss strategies related to long term
goals.
 Monitor world conditions.
 Enhance interaction between other
departments of company
 Decide operational goals.
