IntroductionThe term tourism is considered as an activity which implies a lot benefits holistically.Global tourism enhances the global economy by a lot of factors such as GDP rise, employmenthike, investment by foreign companies and countries etc. Though, there are few issues which stillhampers the tourism industry and if not checked can prove to be a massive threat to the industry.The following discussion focus on the extent of global tourism, top ten countries experiencingmost traveller from around the world, a brief assessment on thedevelopment and features of theemerging markets in the tourism industry, functions of key organizations for the improvement ofglobal tourism and lastly challenges to future growth of global tourism.LO 1P1. Interpretation of statistics present in tourismExamining the scale and nature of the global tourismThe United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) describes thetourism asthe social, cultural and economic phenomenon which entails the movement of people tocountries or places outside their usual environment for personal or business or professionalpurposes. These people are called visitors (which may be tourists or excursionists; residents ornon-residents) and tourism has to do with their activities, some of which imply tourismexpenditure(Opentextbc.ca, 2019).With the effect of globalization, it is a trend today that amount of every householdearnings is saved for travel. People are inclined to venture on places around the world and theeconomic conditions of the country therefore, finds a particular way of earning.Laterthe GreatDepression and theoccurrenceof World War II the economies suffered greatly and tourism wasthe solution to revive the economies of the countries.
