INTRODUCTION
Global Tourism Destinations refers to the different types of tourism destinations which
are present within the world and therefore can help the tourists to be able to gain wide
knowledge and exposure of the world (Brandão, Breda and Costa, 2019). Therefore it becomes
quite important from the point of view of the tourism organisations that they are able to make
sure that they are able to provide the information to the different types of customers and clients
which will help in ensuring that they are able to achieve the goals and objectives effectively and
efficiently. In this report, a detailed analysis will be made on examination of scale and nature of
global tourism, assessment of the scope and characteristics of key emerging markets and
destination regions, exploring the role of key organisations in the development of global tourism.
Additionally, analysis on appraise threats, issues and challenges to the future development of
global tourism will be discussed as a part of this assignment.

the country where the global tourists splash the most cash. The expenditure made by the tourists
here is 210.7 billion dollars. Spain comes next with and expenditure of 68.0 billion dollars.
France is next with an expenditure of 60.7 billion dollars. Thailand has an expenditure of 57.5
billion dollars on the part of the tourists. United Kingdom comes next with an expenditure of
51.2 billion dollars. Italy has an expenditure of 44.2 billion dollars. Australia has an expenditure
of 41.7 billion dollars. Germany has an expenditure of 39.8 billion dollars. The expenditure in
Macao by the tourists is 35.6 billion dollars. Japan has an expenditure of 34.1 billion dollars on
the part of the tourists.
Further, in the terms of arrivals, United States has 75.9 million arrivals, Spain has arrivals
of 81.8 million, France has arrivals of 86.9 million, Thailand has arrivals of 35.4 million, United
Kingdom has arrivals of 37.7 million, Italy has arrivals of 58.3 million, Australia has arrivals of
8.8 million, Germany has arrivals of 37.5 million, Macao has arrivals of 17.3 million and Japan
has arrivals of 28.7 million people.
Thus the interpretation of the statistics of global tourism destination reveals that there has
been a steady increase in the amount of overall expenditure made by the people on the visit of
various global tourism destinations. Further, the number of arrivals of tourists in global tourism
destinations has also increased in a steady manner (Brondoni, 2016).

the tourism can grow in a sustainable manner. The reasons for growth have been mentioned in
the following manner in the terms of the following tourism destinations.
France-
The art and culture of France is a major reason which makes it the most visited
destination worldwide by the tourists. The reason is that there are a number of art
galleries and museums which are present in the country which can therefore attract those
tourists who are quite fond of the art and culture.
France offers something for the people of all age groups which helps it in getting the

Spain-

Following are the threat in the development of global development are as follows-
Terrorism- This is major threat that is face in global tourism as this has increased over
the past years and impact the major development of global tourism. This puts danger the
life of many people and create a sense of fear among the tourist and that will lead to loss
in the industry of the tourism. Some remote areas are very dangerous where many tourist
were not interested to go at any cost due to the fear of losing the life.
Spreading of disease- This is new threat which arises in the world of global tourism
where it negatively impact the growth of this industries (Scott, Hall and Gössling, 2019).
After Covid-19 pandemic the most effected industry is tourism industry and that badly

from the issue of security. Many underdeveloped countries were not adequately follow

Following are the issues of tourism are as follows-
Taxation- This is most taxed sector and also revenue is generated in the industry. The
need to consider that this industry face lots of pressure of taxation from government and
that leads to certain obstacle in the growth of this sector (Sofronov, 2017). This hinders
the growth and create lots of problem in this industry as the revenue is decrease from this
practice.
Globalization- This create the problem when there is not uniform protocol and standards
