AI Summary
This argumentative essay delves into the critical issue of global warming and proposes several solutions for rescuing the planet. It emphasizes the reality and measurability of global warming damage, citing the rise of droughts, hurricanes, wildfires, and heatwaves. The essay highlights the transport industry as a major polluter and advocates for replacing fossil fuel-dependent systems with public transport and energy-efficient technologies. It also addresses the challenge of reducing toxins released into the atmosphere since the industrial revolution, suggesting increased investment in renewable energy sources. The essay concludes by underscoring the urgency of eliminating fossil fuels to save the planet and suggests further research into green energy to support long-distance travel and reduce reliance on traditional air transport. GLOBAL WARMING 2
Rescuing the planet from Global Warming
Global warming damage is real and measurable. It is causing the rise of droughts,
hurricanes, wildfires and heat waves around the earth. However, the extent in which countries
need to save the planet is a debatable issue. While scientists do not seem to agree on one
solution, the fact is that climate change poses an imminent danger to the human race. This
rising temperature has prompted several government agencies and non-governmental
organizations to initiate projects across the globe to assist curtail global warming1. The most
popular methods adopted in many countries include reducing carbon emissions, restoring
natural habitats, and managing waste from industries2. These strategies are yet to eradicate
global warming completely even though they seem promising. For the world to continue
sustaining life global warming will have to be completely done away with.
The transport industry in all the nations of the world are currently one of the greatest
polluters of the environment, to curtail global warming humans will have to forgo a number
of luxuries, for instance there is need to replace automobiles, power generating systems and
industries that rely on fossil fuels. Public transport system should be encouraged rather than
the private cars if the world is to indicate serious signs of fighting global warming. Rather
than generate power using coal and petroleum products, energy efficient technologies such as
CFL or LED light bulbs ought to be prioritized instead of technologies such as incandescent.
To reduce the amount of energy that is lost to the atmosphere people should be encouraged to
practice conservative measures like turning off appliances when not in use. This minimizes

the amount of energy that is released to the atmosphere3. Arguably, it would be quite a
challenge to give up all modern technology to deal with global warming. However, we just
have to check how we use it and look for alternatives where possible.
Man has been increasing the release of toxins into the atmosphere since the industrial
revolution. Various contaminants are continuously being dumped into the environments
ranging from spilling of oil to plastic components. One way that the government have devised
to deal with this pollution menace is to put more resources into development of renewable
energy. For instance, using new fuels that reduce emissions rather than fossil fuels is a more
encouraged approach. Such fuels have already been tested and proven to work in commercial
jets4. Despite the success of the green energy so far, air transport still contributes massively to
pollution and is one area that needs farther research to obtain a viable solution.
Humans are mobile in nature and they tend to travel across seas and lands for
exploration. The only current technology that support faster long-distance travel in the use of
air transport. It is thus necessary to hasten the research on green energy that can support air
transport and replace the overdependent on fossil fuels.
While the question of global warming has been a major environmental concern for
decades, it remains an urgent issue that needs immediate address. Saving the planet will mean
putting more dedication in eliminating fossil fuels.
