The Author highlighted the importance of economic globalization and its interaction with
the nation states and law for the purpose of facilitating justice in time. The Author was
commissioned to examine the relationship between global order and economic globalization. The
Author deeply emphasized on the fact that crime plays a significant role in globalization.
According to the Author, in modern era the concepts of crime and criminal justice have emerged
as a result of increase in globalized culture. In his perspective, with the advent of globalization,
there have been significant changes in market force. As a result of this, various trends in crime
and social control, criminalization, criminal justice as well as the importance in transitional
cultures changed considerably. The Author for the purpose of supporting his claims relied much
upon the theories of positivism and sub-culture theories of crime. Therefore, in such process it
enhanced the formation of “states of exception”.
It can be stated that the relevant source has proved to be beneficial in providing
appropriate information regarding the fact that how globalization changed the way of thinking
towards crime and criminal justice. The source has been appropriate as it highlighted facts
regarding global danger that have been hidden from contemporary world and public knowledge.
However, the only limitation was that the author ignored the application of social control
functions of the state. The social control functions of the states would be useful in assessing the
seriousness of crime in a globalized world which the author did not highlight.

The Authors from the very beginning emphasized on the functions of politics and its
accountability in controlling crime. According to their point of view, when the consequences of
crime are being discussed in a contemporary era, it is essential to control it however; such
control should be within the purview of political ideologies. The Authors laid emphasis on the
impact of criminology in globalization. Therefore, for the purpose of outlining the processes
involved with crime, the nature and terms of transnational crimes that are taking place in a
contemporary world has been taken into account. According to the perspective of the Authors,
that with the emergence of globalization in a contemporary world, cultures, political ideologies
as well as the patterns of crime has developed new identities. The Authors were of the opinion
that the concept of globalization which exists in a modern world cannot be theorized and
therefore carried on the research through empirical data.
The source has proved to be advantageous as it provided valuable information regarding
the emergence of crime and criminal justice and how crime affected the national and political
security of the nation. The source also provided relevant information about the impact of crime
and criminal justice on the process of globalization. However, the only limitation was that the
authors failed to emphasize on the emergence of various criminal activities in a global world.
The authors ignored criminalization of politics and development in policing and the
establishment of effective network for the purpose of extending their operations within the state.
